It's a faint sound for humans but our dog instantly came to investigate the high frequency sound. Time to get structured training in place!

I bought this to call my Black Lab in when she's out in the woods. After a few days of combining the whistle with my usual yelling she associated the whistle with the "come" command.

The whistle is audible to humans if they're fairly close, but my dog can hear it when she's deep in the woods. Now I can call her in late at night and my neighbors don't have to hear me yelling her name. Very good!

Months later, I am still having post-traumatic stress from finding a curly tailed smashed mouse within the layers of a Gridlock pad...but I am happy to tell you that I have discovered many USA made under-pads made for humans which are larger and cheaper than these filthy, China made pads.

I purchased directly from Dig it, and when I spoke to them they were as unconcerned with this incident as the Chinese manufacturers of the pet food ingredient that killed thousands of our countries dogs and cats a couple of years ago, so I wouldn't be surprised if these pads also contained carcinogenic ingredients these people just don't care their one and only goal is to get as much cash out of our pockets as possible with as little expenditure to them as possible, no matter who it KILLS!!!!

These pads hold large amounts of liquid and do not shred when our cats try to "cover up" their messes. We are using these pads for our older cats even though they have ample access to litter boxes, sometimes they don't make it for whatever reason. Since we've started using these wherever we think they might have an accident, they choose the pads instead, which has saved our carpets from the urine they we all know never comes out. We also use them if the large dog we have is kept inside for long periods of time. She just automatically went on them. We've tried the cheaper kinds but they shred or don't hold as much. Now we buy these in bulk.

My dog goes on any wee wee pad, because I change products frequently, looking for a more absorbent pad & one that she doesn't shred. She gets enough use out of one maybe up to 3 days. I leave 1 in the bathroom & 1 in the kitchen. There is no odor, so that's good. Also the liner around the pad is light colored so it doesn't attract her attention to bite it. But if I'm gone all day (if I'm @ work) she might go crazy & shred it a little. But I think she's getting better, now that she's a little older, maybe she outgrew that stage. (I hope so because sometimes she ate the plastic & padding!!!)

It could be a little thicker but at least it absorbs. I ordered another pack this time the larger ones. If it's too big I'll cut it in half.

I have an older, diabetic cat, Java, who has taken to peeing (and peeing and peeing!) just outside her litter box, and these large 24x24 inch pieces of heaven have saved me a ton of grief...and money on other cleaning supplies. I was a little skeptical at first because of Gridlock's surprisingly low price point, compared to the more expensive Wee-Wee Pads, but have become a true believer. First of all, that extra 2"x1" over the standard Wee-Wee Pads (22x23 inches) makes a world of difference with Java's "splash zone". Plus, they seem far more absorbent and sturdy, which is important because Java loves to scratch the pad overzealously after doing her business, as if it were litter.

I have a pretty crazy 2-year old North American mutt who was having trouble with several things chasing the cat, running off when not on leash and exploding at the front door when visitors came. We tried spray water bottles, time outs, treats, but nothing worked. With this spray collar we have been successful at curbing everything so far. The key is to follow the instructions to the letter. At this point, my dog doesn't associate the collar with me, and doesn't associate the collar with the spray corrections. This way, he follows my commands, even WITHOUT THE COLLAR. This is worth the price, that I was admittedly concerned about. It is imperative to break the dog in by wearing it first, unloaded, for several days, and not making a big deal of it. Then, be SURE that you stay out of the dog's sight when working with the collar loading batteries, refilling the citronella, turning the power on, etc. Also make sure you wait the full 20 minutes after putting on the collar before you use the spray for a correction. It takes some planning and a little extra effort up front, but it's been worth it. After 2 sprays, I now have control off leash just give the warning command, and he comes right back (be sure to stay within the 250 remote range continually while outside the first few times). Amazing! Same with the cat and the door. I agree with the other reviewer about the newer, waterproof version, and turning off the collar when not focused on training. We also took on one transgression at a time. Our dog is pretty sensitive, so we started with running away off leash. Then, when we conquered that, we took a few days off, then started with the cat chasing, etc. One last tip, be careful when carrying the remote around that you don't accidentally set off the spray. I accidentally rolled on the remote while I was on the couch watching TV. My dog was asleep when he got sprayed, and was totally freaked out for the rest of the night. We took several days off after that, and he seemed to recover. Best of luck!

My one-year old bull terrier has been obsessed with doing things he shouldn't -entering certain rooms, jumping up on counters, etc. These problem behaviors have been curbed by using the spray commander. Two or three well-timed spray blasts, and he made the connection, and the problem behavior has been curbed. I only wish I had started using this earlier. Be sure to get the newer version, which is water proof and better constructed. Although some have reported that the batteries run down quickly, I have not had a similar problem. But I am careful about turning the unit off, except for those times when I intend to focus on training.

Another note: Be cautious about purchasing from the Amazon marketplace merchants rather than from Amazon itself; some of these merchants seem to have questionable inventory, and returns are more difficult.

My wife was going to kill me if I didn't get my Sheltie puppy under control. The little guy was terrorizing our Maltese and barking at anything that moved. The two cats were not overly happy with him either. So, I took a chance on this collar. She wanted me to get a shock collar, but I didn't think "zapping," him was such a good idea, though if this collar didn't work, that would have been the next step. I got the collar and put it on him. I guess it wasn't tight enough, because he ate through the collar within an hour. That would make about four collars he has turned to scrap since I got him. Had some difficulties with the unit I received. At first it didn't work. I contacted the seller and they sent me new batteries free-of-charge and that was the issue. Then, after about a week, small amounts of the spray began leaking from the spray valve, pretty much rendering it useless. The seller was very professional and processed a full refund. While it worked it did the job.

First off, we didn't but this product from this vendor, but it was this Innotek Spray Commander Product. This really changed our dogs behavior and was an absolute savior. However, after a few weeks, it stopped beeping or spraying. We replaced the battery and that solution worked the first time, and then the second time, we tried the same thing, and nothing ever happened again. No beeping from the remote, no spraying from the collar. I'm trying to contact the company now to see if I can send it in for a new one. Here's hoping!

Our family was recently blessed with the sweetest little puppy but he's definitely more of a chewer than any dog I've ever had. My husband and I are both techno geeks so we have a lot of not only expensive but dangerous electrical stuff that we just can't pick up off the floor. We were so frustrated and I thought there was no way to stop our little hoover vacuum from munching on everything in site but one quick chomp of my husband's shoe laces after spritzing this stuff on them and he learned that the smell equals yuck! While kitten proofing my room for my new Siamese (he's 8 weeks old), I decided that my rug tassels looks like heaven for a tiny cat. My kitten arrived two days ago and sure enough, he tried to chew up my carpet tassels. One tiny bite, and he immediately dropped the tassel and went back to his toys. To be safe, I've been respraying any area I catch him looking at. He has yet to mess with anything that as been sprayed. I have since taken to following him around the room and spraying anything he bites. I've even sprayed this on the edge of my bed sheets. Nothing has stained.

Did not work on my dog, actually, I am her human, but I am not surprised in the least. She is a Jack Russell and Lab mix. Size of a lab and 70 lbs of ATTITUDE. Forget Ceasar the dog whisperer! I always thought these electrical collars were cruel. But you don't even need to use the shock, just the vibrate to teach your dog to stop by behaviors. We couldn't take our 1/2 lab, 1/2 golden retriever to the dog park, she would play too rough with little dogs, barking non-stop at them in an aggressive manner, occassionally humping. At home, she jumped on visitors...now, using the words, no, stop, off, etc. along with the vibrate feature, she has turned into a new well mannered dog and we hardly had to use it! This thing worked so fast, I don't know if our dog is just smart or what, but one time was enough for her to understand what was required. The only downside is the collar part, you can't turn off, so the batteries need to be removed to make sure they don't get drained. That's a bit of a hassle, but for $20, compared to other collars like this that are $100 -$250, I'll remove the batteries! a recommendation is to always carry spare batteries to make sure you're able to use the unit when needed. I read that other people said this trainer thing was broken or didn't work...I don't know what they're talking about. Maybe be sure to get the correct size, small, med, or large for your dog. Seriously, the Best $20 I've ever spent, wish I would have gotten this years ago, my dog is 6 yrs old! You can teach a older dog new tricks!!! Amazing!!!

I came to realize that this item might not be the best way to train your animal, so I never used it. I did however try it on my hand and realized that you can set it to vibrate and achieve the same effect once the animal is conditioned to the treatment. In its lowest setting, it is not nearly as unpleasant as one might think and I still believe that this may be a good product for the right owner and the right dog, as long as it is used properly. Good product for the price.

We bought this collar for our English setter/Springer Spaniel mix who loves to bark. It came with a CD-rom, an extra set of prongs (for longer haired dogs) and a battery charger, which we wanted. A red light illuminates when the collar is shocking or resetting itself as well as if it needs recharging, which we liked. The length of the black nylon collar is very long so you can cut it to fit. We also liked the fact the collar is water resistant too.

We didn't think the bark collar was working as our dog continued to bark even after a week of wearing it so we called Innotek who had a very knowledgeable customer service rep. She advised us how to test it on ourselves and it did shock my husband so it was, in fact, working. However, our dog continues to bark with the collar on, especially if there is someone at the front door. I guess he just endures the discomfort. We were hoping for a miracle cure to his barking, but unfortunately, this hasn't been it.

An additional word of caution: We bought this collar through an Amazon.com vendor because it had the best price. When we called Innotek (the manufacturer) for advice, they advised ut that the vendor was not an authorized Innotek dealer. I don't know if this would void the warranty or not???

my neighbors came out and complained that their 5 year old kid cant play in the back yard cuz he is afraid of my dog. my year old boxer is all bark. since he was a little guy he had an above average bark. i have 6 foot brand new fence around the whole yard and they still complain. for the first like 3 days i gave up on the bark collar. my dog still never stopped barking and the thing was fully charged. i tried it on myself and nothing. the instructions say to test to see if it is working, to rub it on a non glass surface, creating vibrations. the light started going crazy and i tried it on myself. startled the crap out of me as i tried to make it work on me like 30 times, but this time i was 100% sure it worked. so i put it back on my hommie. he went on a barking rampage and it shocked him. how could i tell? was it the look like he needed to scratch it off his neck? no it was the dog running away squawking. i felt terrible but it scared me just as bad when i tried it on myself. after that day he was over the scared feeling. everytime i put his collar on he wont bark at all but hes smart enough to know when i take it off hes open game. i really dont think he minds wearing at all anymore. i just make sure i put it on him whne i leave the house and take it off when i get home. i have a pit bull as well and they play all day and tug on each other by the collar ALL DAY and the collar is still alive about 2 months later so i would give it a 5 on durability.

This collar seems to work well, comes with good documentation, but if you have a barky dog, u have to recharge it alot. The rechargeable battery feature is by far the best selling point, making it much more economical than most other brands with the disposable batteries. The dog is definitely quiter, but if the dog does go on a roll barking, he can usually defeat the collar. It's worth the money, and works most of the time...

I love All-Belt retractable leashes. They are much better than the cord leashes! There's no risk of them burning your knees or hands if all of a suddden your dog goes dashing off.

This leash is also great if you have more than one dog. We have two, and the belt really helps to see how to untangle the pooches when they inevitably get tangled.

The only reason I don't give this leash 5 stars is because the handle is small. I have medium-sized female hands, and I can only fit 3 fingers into this handle (my husband can only fit two). If I could fit four, it would be a lot better.

I should have realized how short 10 feet really is before ordering, so that is my mistake. The leash is very smooth and goes in and out nicely. The only downside is that the handle is very small, and both my wife and I can only fit two fingers through it.

I really feel like I must defend this product and encourage others to give it a try, because thanks to this green box my yard is cat free and will stay this way as long as I keep this box.

When I purchased this device a year ago to fend off hordes of neighboring cats who found our yard to be a perfect litter box, I expected immediate results. I just wanted to see my yard completely cat-free the next day or at least in a week, but I had no such luck.

The problem is not poor functioning or ineffectiveness of the device, the problem is the nature of cats they are incredible creatures of habit and it takes a very long time to brake those established habits. So, if you think that this device will miraculously get rid of the cats in a day or in a month you will be disappointed, the cats are extremely persistent.

Once I learned this, I started methodically moving the device from one corner of the yard to another and kept it at every new location for several weeks until cats stopped going there. Of course they found a different spot in my yard, and I moved the device there, and so on.

I think that the main idea is to leave the device in one spot for a long period of time (at least a few weeks) which teaches the cat that this place is always off limits and they stop going there. In the course of nine months I have moved the devise consistently following the patterns of favorite cat passages. At times I was losing all hope but my persistence has been rewarded our yard is cat free, but I am not putting the device away, I keep using it as a precautionary measure.

I am very satisfied with this product.

Contrary to the other reviews I have to say it has worked for me so far (update: now 4 months!). I found the range to be more than sufficient, turning on when I'm a good 20 feet away. The construction is solid and it has an extension to raise the height over the grass which seems to help the range. I was worried that I wouldn't know it was working or not, or whether it was defective since the sound is suppose to be in the high frequencies, but I can hear a very high pitch sound and a red light also turns on inside the sensor. One thing to watch out for that might explain some of the other bad reviews is the fact that some cat breeds and older cats are deaf to high frequencies so this device doesn't bother them at all. The company warns about this in their instructions. All the stray cats pooping on my lawn seems to have excellent hearing so far.

Apparently this item has had mixed reviews. In my case, I have 2 cats and at least one of them decided that the bathtub and one spot in my dining room were suitable places for urinating. I put one of these devices in each location, and within minutes the cats (and my dog for that matter!)avoided the areas in front of the sensors like the plague. They've learned how to walk in back of the one in the living room, such that it doesn't trigger, (just in case someone is afraid they will not enter the "room" it is in and so forth), but my problem is FINALLY solved. It was my last hope thank heavens it worked. Note: The first Catstop I rec'd was defective, such that once it was triggered, it remained on (i.e., emitting sound) at all times. I simply called Contech and they replaced it within a week no questions asked, nor did they ask me to return the product I had. Finally, the product does state that it is not for indoor use, given that the sound is probably not too healthy for human or animal ears in confined spaces, but since it rarely if ever gets triggered anymore, I was willing to take the chance until/unless I found it wouldn't work as a deterrent.

We have three catsand one of them (I don't know which-and urine DNA testing on each of them is probably not reasonable!) Has decided it would be a good idea to 'mark' our pretty, Leaded Crystal with a brass kickplate front door. The original Kick Plate was pitted and ruined-so before I installed the new one I waited... and sure enough-after only a few weeks, there was urine markings on the door again. I bought a scat mat to zap them (just a little!) and that worked until the mat was removed. This little (it's smaller than what it looks in the photos) gizmo has been working like a charm for the past couple of weeks we have had it. Another week or two and I will be comfortable enough to install the new brass kickplate! Anyway, we have it situated where if anyone or anything comes to the front door.. off it goes.. and believe me, my tow 8 year old cats hear it just fine... Update: 2 months later: After a couple of weeks the prodct started making a little noise when activated like perhaps the speaker had blown-I called Contechthey were very helpful and promptly sent a replacement unit at no charge. I also added the AC adapter they offered because ours gets a workout being at the front door. While waiting for the replacement to arrive, I changed the battery and the noise went awayso I returned the replacement to Contech.

Tri-Tronics Trashbreaker G3 EXP Training Collar

Bought this to try to keep my german shepherd from running off. We live in the country with several 300-500ft ravines, bluffs, forests, etc. Wanted something that wouldn't lose a signal. This fits the bill. My dog responded to the collar and was trained in less than 20 min. I don't use the shock part, only the beep. He is trained to come when I push the button twice. Working on one long tone to sit/stay, three short tones to come home. Great reception. I use in conjunction with the Garmin Astro GPS so I can keep tabs where my dog is on our daily excursions. Have not had any problem with communication through rough hilly tree covered terrain for up to 1.8 miles. Haven't tried further yet. Simple, easy to use, holds charge easily for over 2 weeks using intermittently about 1 hour/day may hold longer but I usually charge it every 2 weeks.

This product is almost like the heart of a smoke detector except instead of detecting smoke it goes off when there's pressure on the mat. You can see the 9V in the video and hear the beep is somewhat similar (but monotone). You can also see it takes a little more pressure to set off on a plush cushion but there's no way a pet could lay on it without it going off.

I've also used ours on a deep picture window sill and it keeps the dog from jumping his front feet on that when neighbors are out (german shepherd likes to keep tabs on everyone!)

One of our dogs isn't terribly scared of the sound but doesn't want to set the mat off. The other dog doesn't want to be anywhere near it. Neither dog wants to lay on the couch with this thing on though so it's effective for both.

We should have bought this ages ago.

We finally have a dog who simply refuses to get off the couch and sheds like crazy. Seeing a review at Amazon for the couch off thing with the shocker saying to save your money and be humane and buy this, we opted for this instead.

Right away, he'd leap off the couch, and now, he doesn't even try to get on it anymore. We just need to remove it before company comes! ;)

I have a black cloth couch and a Golden Lab..you know the rest. I tried boxes, she would move them, I tried huge boxes, she would knock them off. I got so tired of having my couch look like I was moving and vacuming off all the dog hair before guest came over. And then enter in

I was so frustrated with my bold catnothing deterred him from climbing up on the counters. Once I even found him all curled up in my fruit basket and he just looked at me like, "what..?". I had tried the squirt bottle, the double-stick tape, cookie sheets on the edge(both worked while in place, but makes the counters very inconvenient to use) and even tinfoil (never even phased him) but I didn't want to fork out the money for a CatScram.

I bought the SofaScram on another site which had a special going with a free No Pets Allowed Blanket. This is like a space blanket/tinfoil type material (99 cents at Walmart). As I expected, the No Pets Blanket didn't phase any of my kitties. As the site suggested, I tried associating it with Sofa Scram's obnoxious alarm by hiding the SofaScram underneath the No Pets Blanket. I was proactive in introducing it to them on the counter, on the tableswhere ever I wanted them not to go and now, they avoid the Blanket itself completelyif they even see me coming towards them with it, they clear out in a hurry.

One thing about the SofaScram by itself, when the cat is scrambling to get away, it can get knocked off the counterI was worried about damaging the device. Twice this happened but it's still okay. Very loud, although under the tablecloth it gets muffled a little bit, but it was still annoying enough to make the cat jump offand since its out of sight, the cat will have no idea whether its safe or not and hopefully won't take its chances. It's only been a day, my bold cat is not so bold anymore. But, I do plan to reinforce every once in a while so he won't catch on.

I'm really happy with the SofaScram and relieved that my cats don't like it. Good by itself, but with the space blanket material you can really extend it's effectiveness. If you don't mind shiny stuffit looks better than tinfoilon your counters or table (as a visible deterrent even without the SofaScram in place), you can cut it to size and smooth it down to cling nicely while you continue to use the SofaScram elsewhere.

Since they love all things potato and sweet potato, I knew the girls would like these snacks. They're a nice small size and thin in the middle so I thought it would be an easy thing to break the individual bones in half. Not!

These are tough, chewy little bones; giving a whole treat to one of our small-mouthed girls might be the equivalent to giving her a stick of gum.

Thus I cut these treats up into little pieces for the girls. They like these bones quite a bit and look forward to them. Larger, less fussy dogs might not need to have their treats cut first.

Be aware that these treats are made in China.

One dog was very pleased the other could take them or leave them. Definitely nutrious for the dogs, small size.
