IRIS Plastic Exercise/Containment Pet Pen, 8 Panels, Blue

We purchased this and just put it together. Easy to assemble. Made well. We adopted a shelter dog and we're having some marking issues. Only when I go to do something else. We put his kennel cage inside of this along with his dishes and he went right in , likes it . When I go out was concerned about him getting to his water . He can do that now.

He never wants to eat and he instantly went to his food dish and emptied it. So he is liking having his own space.

Love this pet pen. Easy to assemble and light weight. No pinching your fingers like with wire pens. Can use all panels or make two small pens (of course one would not have a door).

I got this for our gal. The first thing I did was buy an extra panel, I do not recommend that. It made the pen less stable and my girl knew too as she tested it. Otherwise then that with out the extra panels it is perfect.

My new puppy has her own space. Delivery was amazingly fast. The only reason I gave it 4 stars it's because it doesn't have a floor. But given its flexibility and ease of use I do love this product. I use 6 panels instead of the 8 and she loves her area and she's made it her own.

I found this pen to be excellent for whelping maltese puppies and keeping them safe and contained until they had new family homes. The price also is reasonable compared to others and you can change the shape and size of it to accommodate your needs. Right now a German shepard 3 month old puppy is in it and it is still holding up but I do not recommend it for larger breeds. I plan on whelping puppies in it again. Great product.

Simple Solution Puppy Aid Training Spray, 8 Ounces

After a little over a week of trying to puppy litter train my puppy she just wasn't getting it. My puppy is an American Eskimo they are very intelligent but also can be VERY stubborn. The first couple of days we tried just putting her in the potty but she didn't want to use it. I had read to try putting a box around the litter so they aren't able to run off and play when it's potty time. So we tried that the second half of the week Well my puppy ended up just playing IN the potty and even laying down to nap and our theory is that she ended up seeing it just like a second crate and so she did not want to potty in it (she loves her crate and was crate trained from the.first.night.)

So THEN we bought a puppy pad (didn't work she tore it up) and this spray. We also removed the litterbox from the surrounding box and tried just putting it out on the floor again.. She went in the litter box, sniffed, circled twice, and started going in her potty..! For the first time..! (She had gone a couple of times "finishing" after we caught her but that was very rare usually she would just hold it and run off and go somewhere else 2 minutes later). Since then she has only had 1 urine accident I think she was just overly excited and about 60% of the time she is going number 2 in her potty as well (this spray only teaches them to go #1). In a short while she should be 100% trained on number 2 as well.

My dog went from 0-80 like *that* and I truly was amazed with this product. From reading the reviews [..] I have noticed those that had trouble with the product were those using the pads. The pads already have a scent so it probably confuses them even more. Also I spray alot and I spray more a few times a day just to make sure.. I reccomend trying with the litter if the pads or pads + spray are not working. They still like to chew on the litter but the pads they love to DESTROY and rip to shreds instead of going potty on them lol.

Also another tip if your dog doesn't take to it the first time don't give up maybe they don't even have to go at the moment or they could just be a slow learner.

May work for some dogs but not mine.

I sprayed her pad area. She sniffed but it didn't really help her to go in a specific spot.

I ended up training her without it.

I do think you'd be better off buying a house-breaking or puppy manual book.

I just:

Was attentive and patient. If you can't watch the dog then you won't be able to correct it. How then will the dog be trained?

Put her in her spot and give her treats/praise profusely when she goes in the right area. My 'Mimi Rose' learns very quickly when treats are involved. She learned how to 'sit' in a single 20-minute session! No joke.

Positive reinforcement always works.

Verbally corrected when I saw her do her business in the wrong spot. Don't scream at or hit the dog. Just say, 'No' in a firm voice and/or clap your hands.

Cleaned the soiling spots with vinegar to remove scent.

Placed her on a feeding/water schedule until she was housebroken. She eats 3 times a day. Her dinner is at 8pm. Her bedtime is at 11 pm.

Implemented crate-training and fenced her off in 'play areas'. An untrained dog has NO business having free run of the house.

She got it before long.

My pup still runs towards me when she does her business in the correct spot expecting a treat.

I tried multiple times. Does not work as stated. Works for older dogs that need to be trained but the idea is flawed. They will go where you spray it, but will go everywhere else too. It really depends on the dog/puppy. May or may not work. Worth a try.

This product is a wasre of money . It doesn't work at all as a matter of fact we feel that it does just the opposite of what it is supposed to do.

I have a new puppy and a male cat who likes to urinate outside the box. These work good for my needs. They are quilted and have the typical thin plastic like back. The quilting seems to keep the urine in and it doesn't let the puppy's number two's seep through.

The only thing I wish these had was some sort of attractant on them for dogs, as my puppy doesn't always choose to go on them. I think that would help with the pad training of a puppy.

I purchase these at my local Family Dollar for $4.00 for 15 pads. For my cat one pad lasts for nearly a week. The puppy goes through probably two a week.

I place a piece of cardboard underneath these pads just in case, but, these haven't leaked on me yet.

I have never reviewed an item before but these pads were so flimsy I had to write. These pads don't absorb anything. I have better absorbency from newspapers than these lousy things. I have gotten urine on my hands through the plastic backing and they stink up the entire apartment. Seriously there is nothing yippee about this inferior product. Also any savings are gone because I went through twice the pads in half the time.

Solid Gold Tiny Tots Treats (10 Oz.)

My dogs love these things. Just wish they were less expensive. On the other hand, maybe you get what you pay for in terms of quality.

I have used these as training treats for better than a year. My maltese loves them. I don't find them to have a bad odor in the least. They are soft, so easily cut into tiny pieces for training. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

I feel they are safe and healthy for the little furbabies!

"Give me more" seems to be what my three dogs tell me. Yes a bit pricey and the smell is not appealing but if the dogs love them, it is worth it. They certainly seem to listen better with these treats.

My year-old Havanese puppy loves these treats. He only weighs 6 pounds and they are the perfect size for even the smallest dog. They make great treats for training, too. I started out buying them for training, but he likes them so much that I always have them on hand. They are a little bit more expensive than other treats, but a 1-pound bag lasts a long time and they are made from real lamb so are healthier for him. I have a 5 year old wire fox terrier and he has so much energy it never calms down. I work 9-5 and this calms him down so much and like the other person said it's almost like he's in a trance. I ran into this CD in the oddest store ToyRUs and thought I'd give it a try cuz I noticed my dogs *Especially Maggie* goes through Separation Anxiety whenever we leave. So I've heard putting on classical music calms them but I couldn't find a Classical Music radio station. Once I got the CD home and played it ... my dogs instantly calmed down and went into what seemed like a trance like state. They were just laying down in their bed just chillin like a cucumber. Regardless of the days when not much but lots of exercise takes the edge off my Border Collie, I liked the CD. Didn't put me to sleep, but it was pleasant to listen to. Sometimes I play it when I'm on the computer working and the dog lays down. Can't tell if it's the CD or he's busy plotting his next escapade.

KONG Real Peanut Butter Dog Treat, 5-ounces

I've tried this out, and honestly it's far more cost effective to pick up some organic (or heck, even regular) peanut butter from the grocery.

I find filling the toys up with the peanut butter & freezing them for 10-15 minutes is an ideal way to keep the fur babies busy.

We bought this just to try it out, and ended up throwing it away after attempting to use it once. This stuff is impossible to squeeze out, and the only reason we were finally able to get anything out of it was because we cut part of the bottom off and squeezed out out of there instead. Pointless. Go with the original stuff in a can, or just get natural peanut butter and use a knife to put it in the kong (thats what we use).

i own two labs and a golden retriever and they all go nuts for this stuff (no pun intended). i, on the other hand, had have a couple issues with it. knead the tube all you want, this stuff still comes out too watery to stay inside the kong toy. i tried refrigerating it to thicken some and it got too stiff to come out of the tube. eventually i gave up the fight and resorted to cutting open the tube and using a butter knife to spread it inside the toy. meh, it still works for the dogs but i think in the future ill just buy a tub of peanut butter for them.

PetSafe GT-1 Guidance Trainer

I got this product for my very "soft" herding breed dog. I'm not hunting with him, but I do take him off-leash in the woods often. Lately, in his "teenage stage (he's 1.5 yrs. old), he's been not responding as well to my calls. He lags behind to dig, or runs off on a coyote scent.

He's extremely scared of any sort of corrective measures (such as spray bottle, loud noise, whatever). I didn't feel I needed a full out shock collar for him, even though I hear those do work even on soft dogs. I googled "vibration only collars," and this is what I came up with. It seemed to be the only one with multiple levels of vibe, waterproof, far-reaching, and sturdy. But, there were no reviews for it anywhere online that I could find, and it's expensive.

I found it here on amazon for about $70 less than anywhere else.

Gentle Trainer GT1

It works so well. It really just feels like holding your cell phone against your neck when it's on vibrate. My dog is not scared of it, and it doesn't hurt. It can vibrate faster or slower, which is what makes it louder or softer, and it has 15 different levels on the dial of the remote.

It serves, as a hunter once told me about his very low-set e-collar, as a "tap on the shoulder" to my dog if he gets caught up in something good. "Hey, boss lady's over here. Pay attention." It's even broken his focus when he's on a coyote scent, which is a very powerful stimulant for him. Not sure I'd trust it to work every time, but for now, it's worked.

My dog new the "come here" command prior to my getting this collar, and now after buzzing him and calling him simultaneously, he comes when I "page" him only, which is great when I'm conversing with someone during the walk.

This collar would also be excellent for a deaf dog. You could train him with different levels or patterns of the vibration and use those as commands.

This has been great out in the field. My dog has worn it completely submerged in the water and it still works.

It comes with a recharger, and a single charge lasts 48 hours of regular use. The design of both the remote and the collar is attractive, even though the collar part is a bit heavy (doesn't seem to bother my 50 lb. dog). A light on the collar blinks red to show you that it is still working.

I cut my plastic collar too short and replaced the collar with a fabric / nylon one, and it looks better but works just as well. Make sure you don't cut off too much!

If you think maybe your dog may not react to just vibe, look at the GT-2. It has 15 different vibe and shock levels, which may be more helpful for a wide range of behaviors. The shock feature on the GT-2 is supposedly quite gentle as well. The company actually suggests trying all their collars on yourself before using them on your dog. Very humane! :0) Unleashed Technology has a great support website as well, complete with videos.

I recommend this collar very highly, especially for those soft dogs needing a little reminder, and for deaf dogs. I hope this review helps someone trying to make a decision. Great item!

I bought the GT-1 to use on my aging Lab, who is almost completely deaf. He still goes on hikes, but occasionally wanders off the trail, and it's hard to get him to turn around and come back. I thought a vibration collar would be the perfect way to get his attention without stressing him, like a shock collar might. I have done a lot of dog training, so we started in the house, then tried it in the yard. Even with the collar cinched tight, and with treats as a motivation, he did not respond to the vibration. No wonder at the maximum setting, I could hardly feel it on my bare hand, and he has a thick coat of fur.

This particular collar may have been defective. If not, the collar is not very useful, unless you have a really sensitive and/or very short-haired, dog. Or if you get the combination vibration/shock model, and your dog is wary of the shock following the vibration.

Great concept, perhaps less-than-great final product.

I ordered this to detour some bad behaviors with my dog and it didn't even phase him, even at the highest setting. He just kept right on doing what he was doing. I followed instructions just like was stated in the manuals that were included. Some dogs my respond to it but mine didn't. I even place the collar on my own neck and tested the stimulation and it was VERY minimal almost to the point I could barely tell it was on and that was the highest setting of 15. Definitely not worth $155 when you can buy 1 for half that price online or in stores. I was highly disappointed. I used it 1 time and I hope they are willing to give a refund for this item, otherwise I will be VERY upset about this.

Make sure you are dedicated to trying to use this as it is difficult to get charge and working. the buttons have to be pushed by something other than your finger and the different levels of vibration were indistingquishable so basically it was just one level. I ordered for a deaf dog that belonged to a client and the clients were not able to get it to work for them. I do not think they followed my direction for getting the dog used to it though.
