This is a fine leash and a great deal for the price. We bought matching harnesses and they work perfectly together.

I have 2 of these leashes. They are comfy to hold and look cute with my dog's collar. Unfortunately, my dog trainer has requested that we always have a leash on him while we work on training (24/7). Large Top Dog Spiked Pink Leather Dog Harness

This harness fits nicely and a large fits perfect on my big pit bull. Dog loves it and it makes her look ruff even though she is just a sweetie-pie that would only lick people to death.

I bought this harness very skeptical about the quality. I was also scared it would be too bulky and harsh for my English Bulldog Cooper. The pink spiked harness was a compromise with my husband who has wanted to put her in spikes since she was a puppy. Herm Sprenger German Prong Collar 3.25 MM

At first I was reticent to try this collar it looks so agressive, and I'm only trying to fine-tune our newly adopted dog's leash walking and have an effective deterrent from her urge to chase madly after every squirrel, crow, and neigborhood dog (the last for play, the first two with a bit more murderous intent).

After talking to a professional dog walker and trainer, I decided to give this collar a try. The dog walker regularly 'pack runs' with neighbors of 2 and 4 legs that have varied dispositions (golden retriever, doberman, border collie) and they all use these collars during runs. The dog trainer said her dog prefers this collar over a straight collar, choke chain, or gentle leader, which I couldn't imagine for our rowdy pup, however, I thought it was worth a shot.

When I received the collar, I was impressed with the craftmanship. I tried it on my thigh, and the collar gives pressure without much pinching or poking. This is far better than the ones I tried at the pet store, which had abrupt ends to the prongs that bit into my skin.

I braced for resistance when I placed the collar on our dog. She didn't try to scratch or shake it off, so on went the leash and off we were. She is very obedient with this collar, much more so than the gentle leader. Since I rarely had to spin to redirect her attention, we covered an extra mile on our morning round. Getting ready for walk #2 she came right up to me, sat, and leaned forward for me to connect the collar. Whoosagooooddoggie?

In order to prevent injury, be sure to keep a loose leash at all times unless you're correcting, then tug briefly and release. This method works very well during walks, and my dog loves the collar.

This collar was recommended for my 5 year old German Shepherd by his trainer. I'll have to admit, it worked wonders in his training and on walks!

When I first got my dog, I purchased a cheap knock off prong collar with the quick-release clip. I decided I wanted one that didn't have the quick release as they aren't recommended. I heard that Herm Sprenger collars are good quality so went with this one. It's made well and is relatively easy to put on and take off. For the record, the tag on the collar says it's 18" inches long (there is no mention of the length in the product description). Prongs are easily removable to adjust the size. It should fit high up on the dog's neck behind the ears up against the skin; not too loose or tight.

I've only had the collar for a week and only now had the chance to use it in the field ... all I can say is WHAT A DIFFERENCE! I should say that my dog already knew basic commands like "Come", "Sit", "Stay", "Heel", and "Down" but getting him to do those things off-lease was a real challenge. With the radio collar, things are a snap. Games of fetch are now actually fun for both of us. He used to run after the ball, catch it, but then proceed to not come back with it. Prompts of treats didn't help past the first one or two throws. After only two "tickles" on the lowest setting (and we really are talking a "tickle" here ... I tested it on myself and the lowest setting is far less than you might get from a shock from walking on synthetic or wook carpeting), he now makes a bee line back to me after only getting the tone prompt. With only one tickle at the lowest setting, he's even heeling off lease as we walk home from throwing the ball. Truly ... if you have a dog who already knows basic commands and you'd like to be able to take him off-lease for games (or hunting as the product description states) this is a wonderful product. This is not a substitute for training but is a very effective supplement to it. All my dog needed was the reinforcement that I meant the commands I was giving him even off-lease.

An additional kudos to the Petsafe company ... the originally shipped transmitter (the part that looks like a little FRS radio) was defective making the set essentially useless. One call to Petsafe and they replaced the transmitter with a new one with no problelm.

I had owned one before (the 400) and this one is much better, better range and my dog really listens to this. I am not cruel in using this I mainly use the short zap button which is enough to remind her to listen and I don't have to turn it up onto the max setting. She is a very strong willed dog and refuses to listen sometimes and needs to be reminded. Many times the tone alone is enough to get her attention. The charge lasts longer on this unit than my old one also, expensive but a very good buy if you need help in controlling a strong willed dog. Just be careful, don't let the kids use this (they may deliver too much shock and hold the buttons too long) and make sure you are not cruel in it's use. This is a tool which if used right will make a world of difference in you dog's behavior. There are times when you need control but you can't catch up to the dog or it is too far away to want to listen. I am happy with this purchase and would reccommend it.

I've had the Sport Dog training collar for 2 weeks now. It was a replacement for a "cheap" ($100) one from W.Mart that used watch batteries on the collar and a 9V on the transmitter. After buying more batteries than I care to admit, I finally bought this one. Both the receiver and transmitter batteries recharge by a wall plug (at the same time) and the unit is waterproof which is great. The dog responds well to one of the low settings and has quickly gotten used to the tone to avoid the zap. The only reason I didn't give this a 5 star rating was that the batteries need to be recharged every other day if you leave it on. It's not an issue, I would just prefer to have larger capicity batteries. Add that to the lifetime warranty and it has been a good deal so far.

I was looking for a training collar for my large dogs. I bought this along with the Add-a-dog collar because I had been told good things about this brand. When I received the product, however, I was disappointed to find that there was only one mode available when you had two collars attached. In this mode, I could only shock each dogI could not warn them with a pager or tone. While I think this product would work great with just one dog, (there are a lot of different settings), it is not a great two dog system. Also, to switch back and forth between one dog use and two dog use, you have to insert a sharp point in the back of the transmitter to reset the whole unit. I decided to go with something better.

This is an awesome toy. I have a 55lb lab/pit mix and she is a chewer. She has gone through every other toy. Extreme Kongs, Tuffs, Nylabones, etc. Toys for her generally last about 5 minutes. She destroys everything. The thick nylabones last maybe a month which is the 2nd longest lasting toy she has. This Goughnut has gone through 2 years and is still in great shape. It does not squeak any more but she still chews it. No red, no parts falling off, just a great toy.

We have a pit bull that chews through most toys with ease. This "toy" has proven to be a much greater challenge for "Jaws". he has chewed and chewed, but it remains intact with no holes. I recommend this product for any dog with a high desire to chew.

I was a little skeptical about buying this product because I have never heard of it before, also because there were only a couple reviews on it. Anyways, I have a 10 month old Pitbull puppy and she is a CHEWER, I have bought her all different toys.. balls, kongs, ropes, "tuff toys", etc.. she shreds them all within minutes. This is the first toy that has lasted over a week and theirs not even teeth marks in it yet. This is the first toy that's lasted more than 3 minutes with our newly adopted pit bull mix.

At first she ignored it, but after leaving it with her for a couple weeks and periodically rolling it along the ground for her, she's decided she likes it, and will grab it and run around the yard.

I think she misses having toys she could destroy, because she does not put as much effort into it as with the flimsy toys, but at least this is safer.

I'm experimenting with taking it away to see if that helps, but it seems like she pays more attention when it's down all the time. (???)

PetSafe GT-1 Guidance Trainer

I got this product for my very "soft" herding breed dog. I'm not hunting with him, but I do take him off-leash in the woods often. Lately, in his "teenage stage (he's 1.5 yrs. old), he's been not responding as well to my calls. He lags behind to dig, or runs off on a coyote scent.

He's extremely scared of any sort of corrective measures (such as spray bottle, loud noise, whatever). I didn't feel I needed a full out shock collar for him, even though I hear those do work even on soft dogs. I googled "vibration only collars," and this is what I came up with. It seemed to be the only one with multiple levels of vibe, waterproof, far-reaching, and sturdy. But, there were no reviews for it anywhere online that I could find, and it's expensive.

I found it here on amazon for about $70 less than anywhere else.

Gentle Trainer GT1

It works so well. It really just feels like holding your cell phone against your neck when it's on vibrate. My dog is not scared of it, and it doesn't hurt. It can vibrate faster or slower, which is what makes it louder or softer, and it has 15 different levels on the dial of the remote.

It serves, as a hunter once told me about his very low-set e-collar, as a "tap on the shoulder" to my dog if he gets caught up in something good. "Hey, boss lady's over here. Pay attention." It's even broken his focus when he's on a coyote scent, which is a very powerful stimulant for him. Not sure I'd trust it to work every time, but for now, it's worked.

My dog new the "come here" command prior to my getting this collar, and now after buzzing him and calling him simultaneously, he comes when I "page" him only, which is great when I'm conversing with someone during the walk.

This collar would also be excellent for a deaf dog. You could train him with different levels or patterns of the vibration and use those as commands.

This has been great out in the field. My dog has worn it completely submerged in the water and it still works.

It comes with a recharger, and a single charge lasts 48 hours of regular use. The design of both the remote and the collar is attractive, even though the collar part is a bit heavy (doesn't seem to bother my 50 lb. dog). A light on the collar blinks red to show you that it is still working.

I cut my plastic collar too short and replaced the collar with a fabric / nylon one, and it looks better but works just as well. Make sure you don't cut off too much!

If you think maybe your dog may not react to just vibe, look at the GT-2. It has 15 different vibe and shock levels, which may be more helpful for a wide range of behaviors. The shock feature on the GT-2 is supposedly quite gentle as well. The company actually suggests trying all their collars on yourself before using them on your dog. Very humane! :0) Unleashed Technology has a great support website as well, complete with videos.

I recommend this collar very highly, especially for those soft dogs needing a little reminder, and for deaf dogs. I hope this review helps someone trying to make a decision. Great item!

I bought the GT-1 to use on my aging Lab, who is almost completely deaf. He still goes on hikes, but occasionally wanders off the trail, and it's hard to get him to turn around and come back. I thought a vibration collar would be the perfect way to get his attention without stressing him, like a shock collar might. I have done a lot of dog training, so we started in the house, then tried it in the yard. Even with the collar cinched tight, and with treats as a motivation, he did not respond to the vibration. No wonder at the maximum setting, I could hardly feel it on my bare hand, and he has a thick coat of fur.

This particular collar may have been defective. If not, the collar is not very useful, unless you have a really sensitive and/or very short-haired, dog. Or if you get the combination vibration/shock model, and your dog is wary of the shock following the vibration.

Great concept, perhaps less-than-great final product.

I ordered this to detour some bad behaviors with my dog and it didn't even phase him, even at the highest setting. He just kept right on doing what he was doing. I followed instructions just like was stated in the manuals that were included. Some dogs my respond to it but mine didn't. I even place the collar on my own neck and tested the stimulation and it was VERY minimal almost to the point I could barely tell it was on and that was the highest setting of 15. Definitely not worth $155 when you can buy 1 for half that price online or in stores. I was highly disappointed. I used it 1 time and I hope they are willing to give a refund for this item, otherwise I will be VERY upset about this.

Make sure you are dedicated to trying to use this as it is difficult to get charge and working. the buttons have to be pushed by something other than your finger and the different levels of vibration were indistingquishable so basically it was just one level. I ordered for a deaf dog that belonged to a client and the clients were not able to get it to work for them. I do not think they followed my direction for getting the dog used to it though.

I bought a similar collar from other seller before. It was not good.The instruction was not very clear to tell me how to use the product, and I could not find any manufacturer information on the package to call them. It worked for one month then quit work.

It really does what it says it will do. I like the fact that it has a vibrate button (after doing two shocks this is the only control that I need). Most of the time just putting the collar on insures that she stops barking. We are using this collar for two dogs and are very happy with it.

I didn't realize that the vibration function vibrated both collars, and can't be separated to only vibrate one collar or the other. I wanted to use the vibration function as a first warning, but didn't want to warn both dogs if only one was misbehaving, so I only put one collar on one dog. It worked great for one day. The following morning the collar no longer received the signal, so I put the second collar on the same dog. It again worked great for one day. The following morning it now longer picked up the signal. This would be a great product if it worked for more than one day.

Really bad battery life. They would die after 1 to 2 days. We did not even use them much and it still drained the batterys in the collars too quickly.

Also the collars would lose signal from the remote. Sometimes one, sometimes both. Pulling the battery out and back in seemed to do the trick, but that is a pain.
