I have a 22+ pound miniature schnauzer who was still too small for a Size 1 Halti, and he's big for this type of schnauzer. So be sure to understand the sizing chart before purchasing one of these leads. The breed and size suggestions they give aren't necessarily going to work for your pet. I notice that other purchasers of this collar have had the same criticism, and if I'd taken the manufacturers suggestion, I would have gotten a size 2!

Otherwise, the product seems well made. I hope the size 0 will work for him.

Using the info provided for ordering the correct size (my dog is a 10 lb toy manchester terrier), I placed an order for a small (1) collar. The collar was so large, my dog immediately came out of the collar. I exchanged collar for a X-small collar (0), this also was too large. I finally dismantled the collar and restitched to make smaller. Now my only problem is getting the dog used to the collar.

LCD Remote Training Shock Collar 100 Levels for 2 Dogs

It does exactly what the product description describes. The range is great. It has a shock, vibrate, and tone. The shock and vibrate have 100 levels. The tone is only one level. Each collar is on a separate wavelength so there is no crossover if you are correcting one and not the other. When the shock and vibrate are set to 0 it will do nothing, the product is not broken, turn it up one level. Don't be afraid to test the shock with your fingers when it is set at 1, it just tingles a bit.

I use this product on my 50lb standard poodles. They are mindful of the tone and when that doesn't cut it I use the shock. I have never had to use above a level 7, and that was because one was going to start a fight. They could care less about the vibrate so I rarely use it.

The directions are very hard to understand. Read them carefully, they are all there.

The receivers run off of AAA batteries and if the receivers are taken off the dogs they go into sleep mode. It is the motion of the dogs that keep them active. The remote also goes into sleep mode if not used. There is no on/off switch.

My only gripe about this product is that it has no resistance to water. My dogs ran with them through the fresh snow and they now have condensation inside them. This condensation had messed with the electronics and they constantly beep. Luckily they did not start shocking the dogs. Taking out the batteries is the only way to turn them off. They do not receive signals from the remote when they are in this state. Luckily they reset for a while when you reinsert the batteries. Perhaps when the condensation eventually evaporates the problem will go away. I can always hope.

In the end you get what you pay for.

This is well worth the money. You get what you pay for, so don't buy this expecting a really well made product. You're buying cheap electronics from Asia. That said, it works as advertised and for the money, it's a great value. I couldn't find a two collar set up anywhere else for under $100. My only complaint is that I wish it would vibrate and shock at the same time. I'm finding that the vibrate function has little to no effect on my dogs at least.

Product works just fine as long as the range isn't to far. Only problem we have had is one of he collars broke after about 2 weeks of use. Not a huge deal for us because we only have one dog and got the second one as a "back-up" for the first. You get what you pay for and this being a lot cheaper than some others it is what it is.

Received quickly, and it came just as described. We only have one dog so we're only using one of the shock collars. The batteries do run out pretty quick. We've had to replace the batteries in the shock collar part 3 times (our dog is very energetic and is always moving though) and our remote batteries ran out this weekend (we have had the collar since March 15). Other than that the collar works great. We've only turned the shock up to 25 and that is definitely enough to get our dog to stop doing the things we do not want him to do. If you're looking for a quick fix, and you aren't going to constantly be using it this is a great product and I would suggest it.

First of all, it is really annoying that, at the time of this review, Amazon has all the different sizes of the Ruff Rider Roadie broken out as separate listings rather than as one listing with different size options.

A note about the sizing: be sure to consult not just Amazon, but the Ruff Rider website, as the sizing information is more detailed on the Ruff Rider site. Basically, there are two smalls, two mediums, etc. Be sure to measure carefully my dog measured for a Small 2, but at 48 lbs., I would never have expected her to be a small in anything. Also, go up a size if they are even close to the borderline. She was right in the middle of the range for this size but could probably stand to go up a size.

I ordered two of these, a Small 2 for my 48 lb. dog and a Medium 1 for my boyfriend's dog. Note that the medium had an extra adjustment strap on the chest (although we didn't find it useful) and had wider straps. Importantly, we were not able to fit my seatbelt buckles through the loops in the Small 2, but they fit just fine through the Medium 1. This means we had to use a large carabiner for the Small 2 to properly attach it to the car. *A note about carabiners*: if you are not already familiar with carabiners through rock climbing or related sports, be sure to familiarize yourself with them before using one for this purpose. You need to get a real one with a locking closure, not a novelty one, and it needs to be rated for the appropriate amount of force (usually given in kilonewtons). It takes a pretty heavy duty one to adequately attach your Ruff Rider Roadie (if needed), as 50+ lbs. of dog in an accident at 70 mph can exert a much greater amount of force than a person slipping and falling from a rock ledge.

The primary design flaw I encountered is that the dog can step on the seat belt buckle (accidentally or otherwise), thus releasing both the belt and their Roadie. A solution to this would be to use a high-quality carabiner to attach the Roadie to your vehicle's car seat attachments, circumventing the seat belt entirely.

Having said all that about sizing and attaching the product to the car, I have to say that the overall construction of this product is great. It is strong and the stitching is strong. I did a lot of research into this before making a purchase, because I was going on a cross-country roadtrip and wanted to keep my dogs safe in the event of an accident and also keep myself and my boyfriend safe 100 lbs. of dogs flying forward in an accident is not safe for anyone. I discovered that because dog seatbelts don't have to be approved by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration or anything like that, the quality can be really inadequate. Most are probably fine for keeping your dog from jumping around the car, but are not sufficient to protect you and your dog in an accident. For example, plastic buckles are unlikely to hold up in a high-speed impact. The manufacturers of sub-par products probably know this but are hoping that their customers either don't care about this aspect or won't apply critical thinking skills to the situation.

Both of our dogs seemed to not mind this product, even when being walked in it out of the car. My dog is squirmy but had no issues putting it on via setting it over her head first then pulling her legs through. However, she was able to back out of it once when I was getting her out of the car.

Altogether, I was really impressed with the quality of this product, particularly its construction. It's worth the money to keep your dogs, yourself, and your family safe in the car.

SIZING: Ok. Let me start off my saying that this harness RUNS VERY SMALL. My dog's measurements are on the lower end of those listed for the small 2, (not even...he has a 18 inch neck and 24 inch chest) but that one was way too small. He is around 45 pounds. I tried the medium and it fit just fine. A little loose on him, but the manufacturer states that this harness is better a little loose than skintight. Also, the smaller size was impossible to put on, the medium was a struggle but get on fine.

FIT: The medium has wider straps which I prefer. I don't know how reliable this is in a crash compared to other dog seatbelts but the wide straps are great for when you need to make sudden stops. The medium has a yellow chest adjustment strap the small didn't have. It cinches the neck area maybe 1-3 inches smaller. There is a side adjustment strap. I wouldn't call these adjustment straps, because they're not really adjustment straps, they're more of a cinch.

CONSTRUCTION: This is a top notch product. The harness is built very sturdily and uses very strong (but soft) nylon webbing. It is all one piece with minimal hardware which I like. The strap that connects the harness to your car is securely attached to the actual harness. It is one piece. The straps are wide but because there are no adjusters (beside the cinches) or extra material, it ends up being very light. Also, your dog will be comfortable laying on the harness in long car rides as there is not bulky hardware to lay on. The connecting strap can be folded up into an elastic loop when not in use.

PUTTING IT ON: This is the worst thing about the harness. You have to maneuver your dog into it. If you dog doesn't appreciate being handled it it's limits or having it's feet touched you will have a pretty bad time. You either have to bend your dog's neck or legs in order to get this on. It's a lot of bending. Remember, this is a harness that doesn't adjust! It cinches tighter only. My dog hates this process and sulks. Taking it off is more difficult than putting it on!

Aside from sizing and putting in on, I think this is the best dog seatbelt harness out there. It is very well made and was actually made to keep your dog safe rather than just out of the driver's way.

You know how you see something and you really hope it will work for you? I really had high hopes for this product.

I ordered the Medium#1 for my older dog and the Small#2 for my young dog.

According to the sizing charts, I should have bought the Small#1 (her neck is 18", chest 21") for my young dog but wanted to give her room to grow as she is only 1 year old. It is a good thing I ordered the Small#2 because while it fits once I get it on her, it is a struggle to get it on. I can't imagine how difficult it would have been to put the Small#1 on her. I watched the video on the manufacturer's website and I tried both methods to put it on and they are both difficult for me. (Maybe the dog in the video is used to having it put on and therefore doesn't offer any resistance). I'm hoping it will get easier as I use it. I did try the Medium#1 on her to see if it was any better and it was easier to get on her but it was way too big even after adjustment.

My older dog has arthritis and I could not get the Medium#1 on him without causing him pain. I thought perhaps a Medium#2 would be better but given the struggle I had with the young dog even with the next size larger, I have decided to return the Medium#1 and go back to using the old harness which has a large buckle across the shoulders and does not require me to push or pull on his sore joints.

I do give them kudos on construction. It seems very sturdy and I'm sure the lack of plastic buckles makes it much more likely to stay on the dog in the event of an accident. And I really like the tether that can be used as a short leash. And their suggestion of using a carabiner to attach the dogs to an anchor point or tie down is much appreciated and is something that I will use no matter what brand of harness I use.

I'm not saying don't buy the product, I'm suggesting that you consider how flexible your dog is. It just wasn't right for me and my arthritic dog.

I wanted to love this product, and if it had properly fit my dog, I am sure I would have at least liked it. I measured my dog and she fell between the 2 sizes. The first one was too small, and the next larger one was too small as well! The product gets excellent safety reviews from safety professionals, but ultimately I went with another product (also safety tested) that has a lightly padded chest piece which should better distribute the shock of any car crash as well as be more gentle/comfortable for the dog.

I really like this harness. I feel that it is made really well, and I love how the short little leash on the back has two different places to run the seatbelt through (to keep your dog more firmly seated, or give him slightly freer reign). The lease is also perfect length for my dog's height and my arm length (I'm 5'4") that I can walk him easily at rest stops, between the car and the vets, etc. without having to get out his normal leash. All of the connecting pieces are firmly sewn together. The buckles are just for adjustment and aren't at any stress points. I honestly think I need to worry about my car's seatbelt giving out before this thing, since this seems more solidly constructed! =P

My only complaint is that it is a bit difficult to get my dog into the harness, but I suppose that is a result of being a safe car harness design. My Sam is a 50 lb. golden retriever mix, approaching birthday #8, but my mom calls him Hot Dog because he's reddish and longer in the body than is typical of dogs his size; consequently he is on the short side and doesn't have as much leg to pull through as a "normal" 50 lb. dog.

I've found that the best way to get him in the harness is to have him lay down with his paws out in front of him. I slide the harness halfway up his front legs, duck his head down to the floor (he lies like this a lot anyway, so it's not awkward for him), slip it over his head, then continue to pull his legs through, one at a time. It is a bit awkward and takes a little more time than other harnesses, probably, but there is no way I'd be able to get him in it standing up without painfully contorting him.

I feel confident that my best buddy is safe in the middle back seat of my car when I need to transport him. I recently used it on a 6 hour drive when I moved out of state, and he seemed comfortable the whole time. I had his kitty in her carrier next to him, and he curled up facing her with his head resting on a garbage bag of dirty clothes I put on the floor on the hump in front of him, and drifted off to sleep. He's agoraphobic and usually is a complete slobbery mess in cars (when he was younger he threw up every time I had to get him in a car, and once he even lost bowel control -_-;), so I think this harness makes /him/ feel safer, too!

This product is the best way to train off-lead recall, period. And off-lead recall is a matter of life and death for dogs, as so many are killed by cars.

What I don't recommend this product for is teaching a behavior. It's much more effective to use all reward for that, or reward and minor correction. But *once your dog knows the "Come" command, then -if you let your dog off lead at all -you need to train off-lead recall WITH DISTRACTIONS. Just because Sparky will come when there are no temptations around doesn't mean he'll do it when there are dogs, squirrels....or cars around.

The product is easy to turn on and off, and to use. However, the instructions aren't perfect. For one thing, I wouldn't bother with the positive tone -better to use your voice to praise. But there's a negative tone and a spray button. When your dog needs correction, you press FIRST the negative tone button, THEN the spray button. When you push the spray, an unpleasant but harmless lemon spray squirts your dog in the face. He won't like it. That's good: you want a punishment that's harmless but unpleasant, and it's best if it doesn't come from you but from The World.

Then use BOTH treats and the collar to train recall. When your dogs comes when called -called once! -he gets a treat. When he doesn't, he gets sprayed. If your dog is clever, you'll only have to spray a few times, and then you can correct using just the negative tone.

This is by far the easiest and most effective way of training the single most important command (at least if you ever have your dog off leash). It can also be used to eliminate other behaviors. I just DON'T recommend that you teach your dog with it. Use this only after your dog knows what he should and shouldn't do, and use it just to train one behavior -or, even better, to discourage one behavior. (One at a time, that is.)

Used correctly this is a great product and well worth the money.

So this product is a welcome upgrade. I've been using it for 3 months, will update if things change.

1. Look ma, no batteries: it's so convenient to just charge the thing every once in a while.

2. It hasn't broken. Lovely.

3. It has a lifetime warranty (not sure what that means but the language plainly indicates if it breaks, they'll replace it)

4. It's more slender than the Spray Commander. Looks less clunky on my dog.

I agree with another reviewer that this collar probably isn't the best for TEACHING a behavior, but for fine-tuning response to off-lead commands that the dog already understands or for correcting behaviors that happen when the dog is diffcult to reach (like darting out the front door, etc.), there is nothing better than this PetSafe remote spray trainer. And believe me, I know! I'd tried everything I could think of to teach my dog a good, solid recall and he was good as long as there was nothing else more interesting going on, but God forbid if he saw a cat running across the yard, or another dog approaching us at the park. And I can't count the times I ended up having to crash through the bushes after him because of a squirrel who unwisely chose to depart from his tree and cross our path as we walked along.

I mean, seriously, I'd tried a lot of things to improve his recall around the distractions; calling his name and running the opposite direction while waving my arms around and making crazy noises so he'd find me more interesting, using a whistle and teaching him to associate it w/ good things like treats, keeping him on a 30 foot training lead so I could step on it if he made a break for it (incidentally, this was the worst of the ideas. Almost broke an ankle when the lead wound around my leg and he took off!) and even an electric shock collar, which did serve to get his attention off of whatever he was running after, but even on the lowest setting he'd yelp and look around and seemed so distressed that it was still hard to get his attention back on me, not to mention how bad it made me feel to see that "What the heck was THAT??" look on his face.

He was kind of like that nursery rhyme about the little girl who had a little curl right in the middle of her forhead, you know? When I could get his attention, his recall was fantastic, but when he was too distracted, he was horrid! So it occured to me that since his nose seemed to be the driving force behind his distractability, maybe I needed something to interrupt it and I came across the PetSafe spray trainer. It was enough to distract him, but wasn't so much of a distraction that it freaked him out and made him shut down.

I didn't see any point in using both the "negative" and "positive" buttons, so I just used an enthusiastic voice for positive and the button for negative. We spent a couple of days working on it during our high-distraction situations on our walks w/ him on a super-long Flexi leash. I'd wait until he was distracted and call him. If he came, he gots lots of praise and a high-value treat. If he didn't immediately turn towards me, I'd use the tone followed by a spray. It only took a couple of times of the tone/spray combo before he figured out that if he turned and started coming towards me, the tone and the following spray didn't happen. After a couple of days of on-leash practice, we tried it off-leash. He was fabulous the whole time w/ the exception of one time, when one of the other dogs started chasing a jogger and my dog went to join in. I gave him a stern "AAh AAAHH" and sprayed and he turned and came running back. Now all I have to do is give him a verbal correction and he'll leave whatever I want him to leave w/ no problems. We'll phase it out eventually, after his coming when called the first time becomes an ingrained behavior for him.

All in all, this PetSafe trainer has been an absolute God-send for me and for my dog, as well. I can go to the off-leash dog park to walk w/ friends and their dogs and not have to worry about what'll happen if a dog we don't know comes running around the corner or worry that he'll run off playing w/ another dog in our usual group of boneheads and get distracted and take off after something. If I see someone jogging or an unfamiliar dog/human combo up ahead, all I have to do is call his name and he'll turn right around and come back to me to see what I want. He used to be a devil to get out of the water, now if he ignores me calling him, it only takes hearing the collar beep for him to come back. We've even ordered a second one, in case we ever need to send this one off for repair (Lifetime Guarantee, too!) Best money I ever spent!

This is a radio controlled collar that sprays a mist at your dog's face. The device comes with a lemon scented spray, though it would appear that all of the refills they sell for such devices will work, including the harsher citronella and the plain water. We found that our young Welsh Terrier responded almost too well. When we used the spray to correct, it brought his head up, and outright frightened him. We used it once quite successfully to stop him from running out of a door, which is a real concern, of course, with any dog, but terriers in particular can be tough in this regard. However, we did find that for minor correction, a simple "No" was plenty, as our dog was sensitive to disapproval, and the spray was overkill. We use it very sparingly. I shudder to think what an electrical shock collar would do to this pup, and I suppose this is the much more humane correction device. I would recommend it to owners who find themselves in one or two situations where a correction is needed when the dog is out of reach and frustration would otherwise be the problem. I would recommend this product for adult use only, as it could easily result in a frightened, neurotic dog if used incorrectly.

Also, the back of the collar unit fell right off the first time I went to recharge it, so it had to be reglued--I would not trust its claims of being waterproof, certainly not after having to reglue it. For this reason, I took off another star.

I stupidly bought this, thinking that maybe the other reviewers got unlucky. Not the case. The beep is usually enough, which is good for us, since the spray function doesn't work half the time. When you press the button, you can hear a clicking sound, so it's still trying to spray, just nothing comes out; this started happening the 3rd time we used it.

I called PetSafe, and they said it might be clogged, and gave me instructions on how to "unclog" it, so if yours doesn't work, try this: empty the spray by using a ballpoint pen and pushing down on the fill nozzle-it sprays out, so i recommend either in the kitchen sink or outside. Take a hairdryer on low, and alternate blowing the fill and spray nozzle for 5 seconds and "lightly tapping" it on a plastic surface. If it's still clicking, then refill and try again. If that doesn't work, then call Petsafe.

If you have the patience to test it before using every single time and cleaning it out regularly, then maybe it's not so bad. Bottom line, I wouldn't buy it again, and if I could return it, I would. It wasn't worth the money. Dog Training Remote Spray Collar Multivet Petsafe Innotek Spray Commander works better, although the range isn't as long.

We bought these pads thinking they were the pads that turned the pee into gel or dried so quick our yorkies paws would not get wet with the pee. Instead, these are run of the mill just stay wet regular puppy pads. They are even more expensive than the good ones, ugh!!!! Very disappointed in this item, I would suggest they change their name because if the wrong person orders these as we did, they could tear Dry Paws apart because of their dogs wet paws.

this are hard to find in the store so we buy them often here.. they are one of the few kong treats that work for the 2xl kong... we have the largest size due to the size of our german shepard and she still can get the treats with ease but they work the best compared to any other product out there that we have found...

These are my 3 year old wire fox terrier's favorite treats of all, and he's a picky little guy. He's not a big fan of even smoked, flavored rawhides, and sometimes may even turn his nose up at a smoked pig ear (though that is rare and usually just when he's pouting). These he NEVER turns down, and he goes absolutely berserk when I open the pack and he smells aroma wafting down. And they do have a fairly strong, though not unpleasant odor fairly citrusy. That's not too surprising, because these treats are full of vitamin C, which according to the packaging is important for canine dental health (I assume lack of vitamin C in a dog's diet can cause a similar condition to scurvy). Since Vitamin C is a non water soluble vitamin, it is important not to overdose your dog (water soluble vitamins like B vitamins are nearly impossible to overdose on because you/your dog will just pee excess vitamin out, but with non water soluble vitamins like vitamin C, it can accumulate in the body and, in excess, cause harm), so stick to the recommended daily "dose" on the packaging. Unfortunately, it is quite difficult to neatly break them into smaller pieces (I don't even bother), so these are not ideal training treats.

As for how long these treats last, I think that depends on your dog's breed and your individual dog. They are each rather dense and heavy. My little wire fox tends to demolish things pretty quickly he consumes a large smoked pig ear in less than five minutes, he once ripped a plank of wood off the side of the garage while trying to get to a groundhog, etc, and these treats last him about 30 seconds. One thing that I found interesting about these treats in particular is that, though he seems to love the flavor, he also seems compelled to drink a healthy several gulps from his water bowl after finishing one. Surely enough, the packaging says to make sure your pet has access to water when given these treats. So, two things I think are important to mention: don't overfeed these treats to your pet, and make sure your pet has access to water. The package says max 2 treats per day; he's a little guy so I just give him one.

As far as his breath is concerned, I haven't really noticed any change, perhaps it has an added citrus scent for a few minutes after he finishes the treat, but that's it. I don't think these are breath-freshening so much as they supply the dog important nutrients for his/her oral health, but perhaps some people like the added citrus scent to their pet's breath. They're not a substitute for tooth brushing (or using a brushless tooth cleaner), but they do make an excellent treat!

So, in summary: wonderful treat that dogs love, not great for training because it can't be broken down, contains vitamin C for oral health so you don't want to give your dog too many in one day, and very mildly freshens breath for a few minutes, and takes a 25 pound terrier about 30 seconds to consume, so it is something of a cross between a nutritious treat and a short-lived toy.

These are the only treats our german shepherds get. Our male has allergies to beef, chicken , lamb and who knows what else. This fish based product works great, and they love them. They are a little pricey. A dollar or so less and it would be a 5 star.

I like to feed my dog healthy stuff but one dog trainer wanted me to bring "high currency" treats so I bought some hot dogs and Daisy certainly enjoyed them.

However, she actually goes nuts over the Holistix way more than she ever did for hot dogs and I'm happier feeding them to her. And they're not so stinky to carry around, and not perishable either.

Daisy is about 14 pounds and I break the Holistix into 3 or 4 pieces. It's a little crumby but that way she gets several treats over the course of the day. I use these to help motivate her not to bark at dogs that we pass on our walk. When I mention "treat" she starts dancing on her hind legs walking backwards sometimes half a block in anticipation of one little morsel of Holistix!

I have been buying the Whitefish, Cranberries, Apples, and Blueberries variety. I think we tried another variety once and it was OK but mostly I've just stuck with these. On amazon they are listed as "Menhaden Fish Meal." That is what is listed as the fourth ingredient right before "whitefish." I knew it was the right item by the blue label area and the picture of the bag. Previously I had bought them elsewhere.

These are not cheap but if you break them up like I do and ration them out, as you should with all treats, a bag lasts quite a while.

Really nice. It seems to be made really well. Gives good control for a Belgian Shepherd, tho he is really tame anyway. The leash is stiff right now, am assuming that the leash will soften up by using the leash more. Would recommand for any bred that is big and you want better control over your dog. The repellant worked for about 24 hours, as stated ON THE CAN, but not in the product info that was listed via Amazon. I was hoping that, based on some of the other reviews, that my cat would be permanently detoured from scratching the rug after a single, and heavy, application.

If you don't mind the potential health threats of your animals walking on, or touching, sprayed surfaces that are still wet with the product, AND if you don't mind spraying every 24 hours ..then you should buy the product.

I used this product at least 4 times in hopes that the 'training method' aspect of the product would 'kick in' ..but it doesn't work with my cat, and I DON'T like the idea of spraying something that can harm his health by the product being absorbed through his paws/skin.
