Omega Paw Stop Paw Licking for Dogs, 22-Ounces

Omega Paw Stop Paw Licking for Dogs, 22-OuncesThis product is a miracle! After years of trying different medications and over-the-counter remedies, "Stop Paw Licking" is the ONLY product that has worked. After only one application, I was amazed as how fast it calmed and soothed my dog's paws. I kept waiting for him to start gnawing after the first week it didn't happen. It's been two month's now (I've been using the paw soak along the Omega Paw Body Wipes Omega Paw Dog Paw and Body Sanitizing Wipes, 40-Wipes) and have noticed a definite change in my dog's behavior. He no longer spends hours licking his paws like he used to. In fact, his paws even smell better. It's so easy to use! Thanks Omega Paw!

Our Beagle mix was licking her paws, so after reading the reviews online, I bought a bottle of this product. I thought I noticed a slight improvement, so I stopped (since some people had commented that they had seen an improvement after as little as one treatment.) When I saw that she was again licking, I bought another bottle (in case I had stopped too soon), finished the first and then used the entire second bottle. No improvement whatsoever. When I contacted the company, they did not bother to respond. I think that says a lot about this company. I would not recommend this product.

I used this product on my border collie with seasonal allergies. His paws were red and sore and I was worried about infection. I used this product for 5 days and saw a noticeable improvement. When I brought him into the vet, she took scrapings from his paws and found no bacteria or yeast. This product has been a big help in getting him through this difficult allergy season.

My little Malti-poo started licking his paws when he had an ear infection. He would scratch his ears with his paws and transfer the yeast and harmful bacteria to his paws. So not only did I use the Stop Paw Licking I also used the Remove Rx ear cleaning solution. His ears are all better now and his paw licking has stopped as well.

Gentle Leader Deluxe Head Collar and Leash, Small, Baubles/Deep Purple

Gentle Leader Deluxe Head Collar and Leash, Small, Baubles/Deep PurpleThis seems like it would be great for a larger dog. My pug-chihuahua mix could not work with this, however. The leash hung all the way down to the ground in front, so would constantly tangle in his legs. The nose strap was a bit wide, so would press on the bottom side of his eyes, which looked terribly uncomfortable. Had to return and go back to a harness.

The Gentle Leader Deluxe Head Collar certainly does the trick. And does it fast as well. It only took a few moments for my dog to discover that when he pulled, his head stayed in one place and only his rear went forward. We immediately took a nice long walk instead of coming home quickly because of the pulling. Great product.

This alleviates the pulling so it's easier to walk my dog. It took her a while to get used to it being around her head but she's not bothered by it anymore. She has realized that stopping is her way of rebellion but this leash works really well to prevent pulling. My arms are no longer tugged this way or that way. It's a fantastic feeling.

Karen Pryor, Getting Started: Clicker Training for Dogs Kit

Karen Pryor, Getting Started: Clicker Training for Dogs KitThe book is the heart of this package and it's simple, friendly, easy to read, and covers everything. It spends more pages than it needs to on selling you on the idea of clicker training: the whole first and last chapters, and periodic paragraphs in between throughout. Maybe some people need to be reassured more than they need to be taught how to do it, but I found it a little unnecessary. Even so, it's a brief book you can get through in a few hours and yet it has everything you need to begin clicker training.

The quick start cards are in some ways more handy since they get right to the point. They are necessarily brief, and I wonder if some people might be tempted to work just from them and thus end up frustrated since they don't explain some of the finer points. But even if you did go just from the card you could likely do pretty well as they do cover the important details.

The clicker is a little large and doesn't have as crisp a sound as the other one we bought, but it's quite serviceable. The bag of treats is perfunctory; it's not enough to do anything, and they might as well not have included it.

This package will definitely get you started on clicker training and give you everything you need (other than buying more high-quality treats!) to get good results. Clicker training works. (However, I would still recommend a basic obedience class first: clicker training builds on the basics rather than replacing them.)

This is such a nice "starter set" for learning how to train your dog (horses and other critters are mentioned as well). Each new task is broken down for you in workable parts so that the task, overall, can be learned easily by your dog as well as by you! Yes, you need to know how to be a good teacher for your very best friend in the world!

The set includes a nice clicker that is not too high-pitched or too loud so that it will not scare your darling friend. Yes, I got a couple of other clickers that were larger, really loud and high pitched such that it actually scared my sensitive buddy! Karen Pryor also has a nice set of 5 even smaller clickers at a very low price here on the Amazon site. Get them if you don't already have a few extra clickers so that you can keep them everywhere around thehouse wherever you go as well as one for your pocket when you go out of the house with your dog.

The "Help Cards" are sturdy as well as attractive. These help to "remind" you of the steps and each facet of the training that you will have to do to help you as well as your friend to master each task. She makes it so easy.

There is a small bag of tiny treats included (about 100 or so) to get you started. You need to figure out the "level" of treats that you want to use to train your dog. They go from "high" to "low" value. Basically, for simpler tasks and steps, you will use "low" value treats for training. Something your pal likes and will do the trick for the "usual" training sessions. However, there will be times that "high" value treats (hot dog pieces, beef stick pieces, or even a toy that your dog really loves to play with) will be needed when you want to train your dog to do more complex tasks and to keep her attention throughout the process. I have learned to use food treats less and less and to use high praise and breaks after so much time (every 5-10 minutes). Some complaints about "clicker" training is the food reward all of the time. I prefer not to use food as a reward. I am the only person who feeds him and, when I do, the words "Roo-roo" get him going, he perks up, is excited while I prepare his raw meat and is more than happy to get his one meal each day and the 1/4 cup of meat kibble to gnosh on during the day. He loves this time and I strive to keep food and performance as separate as possible. It works very well. Also, this is a great help to those of you who have heard that a food reward for everything that your dog does for you (from step-by-step rewards to a reward for the task itself each time it is completed satisfactorily) is not the best thing in the world.

The book is fantastic and it should be your "FIRST" clicker training book! I then recommend another book, which is a compendium of many more task, as a follow-up: "Click for Joy! Questions and Answers from Clicker Trainers and Their Dogs," also by Karen Pryor!

I wish you the best for you and your dog. My dog has achieved a greater level of confidence from doing these tasks, learning them, and the deeper relationship that he and I have developed through this process. He is more of the dog he can be as a result and you will be proud of both yourself and your dog as you both achieve the learning of each task!

Mini Travel Teeter (Dog Agility See-saw)

Mini Travel TeeterI have been searching for a practice teeter for my sheltie, and this is IT! I've used it several times now, and here is my take on it:

Pros:

It's really portable. The plank is made of three plastic sections that are light in weight. I'm a petite woman who weighs 106 lbs, and I can easily move it around and into my car without any problems. The base is all PVC pipe/fittings, and they are also light. The configuration of the base is very stable and easy to disassemble.

Secure and easy connections of the plank. The plank fits together with some large PVC pipes into the holes of the plank itself. For extra security, these link together with metal fasteners. I never worry about the plank coming apart.

Secure footing. It's got a great non-slip base all along the teeter plank.

Cons:

It's loud. Maybe it's the particular plank I have, but it makes a loud squeaking noise when it pivots down when my dog is on it. The noise has spooked my dog a few times, but I've been trying to work her through it. I wonder if the noise will diminish over time with use; I'm thinking it might. Just something to be aware of.

It's best for small/medium dogs. Like their description states. It would be tough to have portability and full size in a travel teeter.

******

That's my take on this teeter so far. If I find any other points that should be mentioned, I will be sure to post them. Hope this helps!

This is a lot of fun, and easy to put together if you put some pressure on it. It does seem to bow a but under my dog who is not at 70lbs, but it works fine and fits in the trunk of my little compact car.

The mini teeter was an excellent purchase. It is very easy to use and set up. It is also very easy to dismantle. Made of material that doesn't rust. It can remain outside. It works very well. My dog loves it.

Grriggles Plush Fuzzy Flyers Dog Toy, Chipmunk, 8-Inch

Grriggles Plush Fuzzy Flyers Dog Toy, Chipmunk, 8-InchMy dog loved this initially, but the rope part broke apart in minutes. I was able to surgically remove it, and my dog still plays witht he animal part.

I didn't get this for it's Frizbee effect. I knew it wouldn't fly well, and it doesn't. But, it's fun for short throws that allow it to be grabbed and flung, side to side, or tossed and caught. Nice squeaker also.

If the price is right, you can't go wrong. It's a good toy to use for a little diversion from their regular playthings. And it seems to stand up to two critters, pulling on either side in a tug of war.

Keep Off! Outdoor Repellent 24-Ounce Spray

Keep Off! Outdoor Repellent 24-Ounce SprayI bought this for my 3 month old golden retriever puppy, because he loves to chew the plants out the front porch of my house. He also loves to chew the oriental rug that I have under the livingroom coffee table, he has also peed on it. However, I got the spray and soaked the rug through, waited for it to dry out and put it back in the house, I also sprayed the plants that he chews the most. To make the story short.. next time the puppy went outside, he chewed the plants away, and the next time I brought him into the livingroom he chewed on the rug and peed on it too. So, bottom line, don't waste your money! plus it has a weird smell and including shipping it was almost $20. Just don't.

I got this to keep my kittens off shelves with glass vases on them. It works great! They sniff it, look displeased, and find somewhere else to play. They love to be up high so I knew this would be a challenge. When I follow the instructions (spray every day) it works great. You don't need to spray a lot so the smaller bottle I got has lasted me months so far and is still at least half full. If I'm consistent they stay away even when I forget. I've only caught one of them on the shelf since I started and that was right after we were all away for a week and a half and this spray had worn off.

They also used to sprint into the bathroom as soon as the door was open so I started spraying the doorjam. Now they look like they really, REALLY want to go in but they sit still and wait for me to come out instead.

It has a terrible smell. And it does not deter my cat. In fact, she goes over to see what I did to things I sprayed it on. And stays there for a while. I wish I could get a full or partial refund. I should have bought Bondaries again, because that product works.

It definitely does not taste good to my dogs but it did not help them to not chew on things.

DC SMALL MEDIUM BIG NO ANTI BARK DOG TRAINING SHOCK COLLAR

DC SMALL MEDIUM BIG NO ANTI BARK DOG TRAINING SHOCK COLLAR1) It works.

2) It is not a Bark Terminator III, it is a knock off, but it works.

3) The instruction refer three times to a diagram, there is none.

4) They sent a diaod, but did not say what it is for.

5) The isntruction talk about the mic behind the strap, but that is not the way the strap goes, that is how you can tell it is a knock off.

6) The electorids looked very large, but once I put it on my dog, it made sense. It fits on both sides of the front of the throat.

7) Because of the way the straps go, the mic can get a few drops of drinking water in it. Not sure how that will effect the long term use.

BUT IT WORKS!!!!

Recommend starting out on a low setting and dialling it up. I started on a medium, and had an instance when she was howling at a passing siren. And got caught in a yelp and sock cycle. Just need to dial it down and sit with her to calm her down.

This was an isolated instance, and I still like the product.

This is a useless piece of junk! Went off randomly when the dog wasn't even barking and scared the piss out of her, literally. Don't waste your money on this junk, you get what you pay for. The fact that the box and instructions were in such poorly written English should have been a hint. Went straight to the garbage, it is not safe or humane for any animal.

This item just did not work. The light was on, but the dog just kept barking anyway. Eventually just took it off because it made no difference. I definitely got what I paid for a dog necklace with prongs and bright red light.

Great for the first 2 days then worthless (Dead) there after. I had read the one review on this product and it was a good review so I was really hoping it would be the same experience for my dog and I but in the end I paid almost $10 for 48 hours of a working product. We are now going to have to invest in a more upper end training collar for our Chloe. We were hoping to have her trained before our family vacation in July but due to the collar purchased through amazon it has set us back not only by the cost of the item but by time.

Mendota Products Versa-Belt Lead

Mendota Products Versa-Belt Lead , Camo, 1 x 30-InchI already purchased this from some sporting goods store. By the way I do not use this as suggested. I use as regular leash and a short one as a tab for off lead training. I train dogs and take them in the store all the time. Once they are trained, I don't need to use 6' lease any more. I don't use any other leashes except leather one. But this one is great for my dog which he does not pull. This is soft enough even for the dog pulls you. Because you are holding the loop, so it does not slide in your hands. I meant most of nylon leashes burn your hands when dogs pulls you. That's why I don't like them.

Since I have got a second dog, I needed another one. Because when I am training both of dogs in the store, two 6'leashes are too much to handle. Also they can be washed easily.

Another thing I like about this is that it has a couple of rings to connect together even I don't use them on my belt.I use those ring to put on my back pack or my belt when they can be off lead. I just put it through my belt or any opening and hook to the ring on the same leash, even just hook onto a backpack directly. So I don't have to hold it.

And I have each colors for each dogs.
