Tan Leather Teaching Lead: Dogs Over 40lbs

Gave this as a gift for my doggie 'niece ' and have had nothing but rave reviews! My sister has always had dogs and loves the multi-functionality of this leash. She also has had great results applying Sarah's training techniques to help with her very active puppy. I have been using this ingenious leash every single day for 2 solid YEARS and it is in perfect condition. The leather just becomes ever more supple and beautiful. The hardware is top quality. You can make a handle at one end by snapping onto the D ring near that end of the leash. You can snap the other end into any one of the grommeted holes to form a loop around your waist or any other object, or the collar. I bought this leash from Sarah during a training session with her and she recommended that I snap one end of the leash around the collar on his neck and snap the other end onto the ring of a "Gentle Leader" headcollar (another amazing product it really really works). Since my dog is very strong, this gives me a sturdy connection to his neck and also the gentle guidance of his head with the "Gentle Leader". This rig has really changed things in our household. While I am writing, I would like to say that one private session with Sarah revolutionized the behavior of our dog. She evaluated him and re-set his behavior to be less protective and more beta. We had not understood his viewpoint. Sarah knows how dogs think!

This leash is good looking and well made. It's a great all-around leash but its true genius is the double-ended clip feature. We use it to position our dog a short distance away from the dinner table. Now he lays down with a chew toy while we eat, rather than moving from chair to chair, soliciting scraps. I have purchased Sarah's dog training books in the past (DogPerfect and Puppies for Dummies) and this leash is an excellent complement to the techniques she describes in her books.

This is the best leash I have ever had in my 15years owning dogs. My Aussie puppy chewed through it, but for 3$ the show repair man was able to fix it. I will never go back to other types of leases again. GREAT product!

400 YARD WATERPROOF REMOTE 3 - DOG TRAINING 7 LEVEL SHOCK VIBRATION COLLAR (AT-216S-350S)

I have 3 dogs of varying sizes... I needed a remote that would control all 3 dogs but at different levels. This fits my needs perfectly. IT's also nice that it has a "beep" feature to hit right before the shock, because eventually the dog only needs to hear the beep.

This goes up to 7 levels of strength. One of my bichons needs about a level 3-4 which is the same level that my boxer/pit mix responds to. On the other hand, my other Bichon responds just on vibrate-no shock needed. The level of strength needed is based on the dog and their level of defiance.

Obviously, this is to be used as a training device, and not for torture. So if your dog is not responding stop the training and try a different method. Also, it's important to start at the lowest level and go up. DO NOT just start at level 7 for a sharp correction.

All disclaimers aside, the device fits my needs perfectly and I've almost eliminated lunging at other dogs while we are on a walk. A few more training sessions and hopefully we can get rid of the collar entirely.

The collars work amazing my only issues is it is hard to change from one dog to the next and change the setting in enough time to actually correct the second dog in time. I don't like that you cant correct all three dogs at once, and every time you charge them you have to reset each collar.

My pooches love the entire range of Natural Balance snacks and foods. I first got turned on to these during a NY Mets home game with a byod (bring your own doggie) theme where there were very generous NB giveaway promos. These training tips are their favorites, but at $25/lb, they're pricey.

These are the greatest treats. I buy each of the protein varieties over and over. They're too expensive on Amazon, though, at my local store, they're $5.99. These are soft treats, that you can very easily tear into tiny pieces for training. Highly convenient. My dogs think these treats are just about the best ever. One of my dogs is picky and doesn't like to take treats at the park when he's distracted, but he'll always take these! They're pretty comparable to Wellness Wellbites or Pure Rewards, but only about 60% the price of the Wellness treats. I've bought just about every other brand of treats under the rainbow, and those are the only two brands my dogs really like. These win because they're the yummiest (to the dogs) and the cheapest.

Red Dingo Reflective Martingale Dog Collar, Medium

This is the only type collar I will use for most herding dogs. Their head is often times smaller than their neck so this tightens up without chocking. It is usually hard to find in smaller sizes though

Great size, great concept of self tightening as the dog pulls on her leash. Good color and pall around look.

The only things that I can complain about is that this collar isn't quite reflective, the reflective material needs to a lot of light and in the correct angle to illuminate, and that isn't that easy to adjust to your dog's neck.

One of my cats was recently diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). This means no grain, beef, chicken, pork, or turkey for him, as any of these could aggravate his condition. He is now on a "novel" protein diet, and in this case, the novel protein happens to be duck. Unfortunately, because of this diet, I had to stop buying the usual cat treats and find something else. My criteria were: (1) duck protein and (2) that all my cats (not just the IBD one) like the treat. If I put treats out, it's not as though I can tell the cats which treats they're allowed to eat and which they're not! I thought it would be a tall order to find a product that satisfied both criteria.

I heard about the PureBites treats from another person who has a cat with IBD and I bought a bag from a local store to test them out (didn't want to place an order only to find out the cats hated them or something). Luckily, all four of my cats thought these were great -even the cat who won't touch Temptations treats.

These treats come in pieces that are appropriate in size for a large-ish dog, but they are quite easy to break into smaller, cat-sized pieces using only your fingers. These treats have a texture similar to astronaut ice cream, if you've ever had that, which is not surprising as they are also freeze-dried.

They are duck liver, as a few other reviewers have mentioned. In my case, that's OK, as the cat's food has a large proportion of duck liver in it anyway, so I figure it's not really adding anything that he's not already getting in quantity. I also like that that's the ONLY ingredient; when you have an IBD cat, you really have to watch out for ingredients -even minor ones -that can aggravate the IBD.

I should also mention that even though these are freeze-dried, they're not terribly hard. The IBD kitty had six teeth removed a couple of days ago (separate issue) but he has no trouble consuming these treats. I believe they soften considerably when exposed to moisture. One other thing -they seem fine at room temperature (no need for refrigeration).

At any rate, if you have a cat with food allergies or IBD or some similar condition, these might be a good fit for you.

My cats love these treats, but I didn't realize that they are actually duck liver as opposed to duck meat, in case that makes a difference for any one.

I wanted to write a review to let folks know that these are duck LIVER treats, not duck meat. I bought these before the review posted by "vivere" who also warns folks of this. It is very unfortunate that this ingredient information is not listed for this product, it's important for buyers to know.

I did not want another liver treat for our dogs. I wanted regular meat because you can only use a few liver treats per day for a dog. So, while you can use these as a treat, you really wouldn't want to use a large quantity for a larger training session.

Anyway, other than the issue of this treat being liver.... Our dogs love them. But, even if they were meat, I would not order again because they are too "crushed" in the package. There was a significant amount of "dust" instead of treat bites in our bag. Amazon packaged it well, with plastic pillows, but I think the product soft-side packaging just doesn't protect it well enough. For our standard liver treats, we buy Stewart's Pro-Treat 21 ounce Tub Freeze Dried Dog Treats, Beef Liver by MiracleCorp/Gimborn that come in a hard bucket that helps protect the treats from destruction. Of course, the reason I didn't want more liver treats is because I already have this one liver treat, and that's plenty.

I'm rating this 2 stars because it is different from the standard treats, therefore our dogs love them as a special reward (e.g. used for recall command). But, I feel like I have to rate this lower because of the lack of ingredient information. It's an important missing fact.

I bought a prong collar from the pet store. Then I researched them online and read that the Herm Sprenger collars were better quality and had rounded edges that were better for the dog. This brand was highly recommended by animal experts. I returned my store bought collar and bought this one. First of all, I definitely like the snap-on feature. It makes it so much easier to put on. I use this with my 2 70-lb labs. I clip the leash to BOTH rings so that it does not tighten, but still works as they do still feel it if they start to pull. This works for my dogs and is the recommended way to start using this type of collar. If needed, you can then clip it to only the one ring so it tightens. From day one, they have stopped most of their pulling. I also have treats that I put in my left had and give them while we're walking every so often, so that helps. They now walk by my side for the most part. I used to HATE taking them on walks. I've taken them every day this week and it is actually enjoyable now.

As it was explained to me by my vet and by trainers, large dogs have very thick muscles and skin in the neck. Because of this they barely notice any correction/pulling action that you make when training. Most dogs will learn to walk with any type of lead after enough training, but if something unexpected comes along you might have a hard time maintaining control if your dog is large and strong. Regular chain choke collars are more uncomfortable for the dogs because it catches their fur in the links, even if they are not pulling. This collar simply applies a more direct pressure, which the dog notices, rather than the constriction of a chain choke collar.

Because I live in a rural area with deer, etc. my vet suggested that I use this collar so that I'm not pulled down by the dogs if they attempt to chase other animals. Even the most well behaved dog can get overly excited with the natural instincts kick in. My dogs used to do some pulling at the start of our walks with a regular collar. With this one they don't make any attempt to pull at all. They have never shown any distress with this collar on, never pulled, never any injury, nothing. It hangs loosely around their necks while we walk. They absolutely do not mind wearing it at all. They sit patiently and wait for me to put it on. They walk nicely right by my side with no tension at all on the leash. If you purchase this collar remember that you only put it on before the walk and take it off after. No choke or training collar should be left on all of the time.

I've always used a pinch collar on my Doberman. Recently I moved to a higher traffic area, downsizing his yard, and getting the old collar over his head for every outing was not working for either of us. This accomplishes the easy on/off, but I'm a little disappointed. The prongs are not as rounded as his other collar, and it has come unlatched before when we were on a walk which is scary. Wouldn't really recommend this particular one, especially for the price.

Awesome stuff, it stopped my puppy from chewing on the molding around the floor (knawing off our paint and huge chips of wood), our wooden chairs, and anything else we didn't want her destroying. I also recommend telling them 'no, that's not your toy', and then giving them one of they're toys that they're allowed to chew on and say 'chew on your toy' to help redirect that behavior. It's natural for dogs and especially teething puppies to want to chew on things and they need to have something they can chew on, but this spray really helps to let them know what they can't touch. It's really powerful stuff, definitely hold your breath when spraying it (a mask would probably be better) because if you breathe it in while it's airborne it will linger in your mouth and it tastes HORRIBLE!!

I just got a new puppy and she is chewing on every cord that I have in my house. Given that my other dog is well past that stage I never really worried about having so many power cords, USB cables and printer cables running through my workspace. However, the new baby nearly gnawed through my HDMI cable and I was not happy with that.

As a temporary measure I rubbed some hot sauce (sparingly) on the cables and that seemed to help. I then ordered this spray hoping that it would do the job. Let me just say, it is really potent. Every time that I use it I taste it in the air and I HATE it. It makes my lips swell and the taste lingers for hours. However, the puppy doesn't seem nearly as affected by it as I am. My older dog sniffed the cable that I sprayed (just to see what I was doing) and she ran away from it. Maybe really young dogs--my puppy is 8 weeks old--don't have as finely developed sense of taste as slightly older dogs do. Anyway, I will continue to use it, only AFTER I buy some sort of gas-mask, and I will update this review with my progress.

We've got a young lab that will chew on "anything" and was pulling up/chewing up our neighbor's solar yard and walkway lights. I sprayed this all over the new ones I bought to replace the damaged ones. The dog left them alone for about 3 weeks then, I found one back at our place (but not chewed up).
