Pros:

Works like it should. I haven't used it past 100yds but it always works. You can even use the remote from inside your home and it will still transmit to the outside. Make sure you test it on yourself first so you know what to expect. I have never needed to go past medium and I have a very stubborn dog. If you use it like you are suppose to and you are very diligent with your training this is a great product.

Cons: the only reason I give it three stars is because the battery on the collar last about 2 3 weeks before it needs to be replaced. I don't remember seeing a warning that the batteries were low and one day when I tried to turn it on it was just dead.

I would recommend a collar that is rechargeable. I have a rechargeable e-collar for my bird dog and the collar is even waterproof. I spent about 10 more dollars for these features.

As hard as I've tried, I can't seem to get my dog to write a review for these snacks, so I'll try to do it for her. She is a medium sized dog (60lbs), and gobbles up these treats as fast as I can give them to her (which is rare). I like that the ingredient list is simple, and they contain good nutrition.

Old Mother Hubbard biscuits (we've tried these as well as the puppy variety) are the only true biscuits my dogs like! They would eat the whole bag if I let them. For a long while I did NOT like my dog, a one year old black lab. I put up with his crap because my wife and daughter are crazy about about the dog. I bought this as a compromise with my wife. To my knowledge it hasn't shocked him at all. The audible warning was enough and it only took a few days for him to figure out. My 15lb dog gets the corrective shock about 50% of the times she barks. It does keep her from continuing to bark, but sometimes she'll bark and the collar doesn't respond. Also, sometimes the collar will go off randomly if she jumps or moves around a certain way, so it's probably very confusing for the dog. I purchased it for $10I wouldn't spend any more than that on this product.

I like these collars, they do stop the barking. I think they are too sensitive though. When my dogs shake after having it put on or getting wet in the rain, it beeps like crazy, which makes them shake more, leading to more beeping and shocking. When they roll over in their kennel, if this scrapes against the plastic kennel floor it starts to beep. What I bought it for, it does not stop, and that is the whining and crying. It doesn't seem to pick up on that. So while it is great to have on the dogs when they are outside and tend to bark, it doesn't help me to sleep in by stopping their crying.

Big disappointment. I wish I could get my money back. These DVDs show trained dogs doing tricks but if you have an untrained dog you would do much better with something like the Bow Wow series by Virginia Broitman and Sherri Lippman.

I bought a prong collar from the pet store. Then I researched them online and read that the Herm Sprenger collars were better quality and had rounded edges that were better for the dog. This brand was highly recommended by animal experts. I returned my store bought collar and bought this one. First of all, I definitely like the snap-on feature. It makes it so much easier to put on. I use this with my 2 70-lb labs. I clip the leash to BOTH rings so that it does not tighten, but still works as they do still feel it if they start to pull. This works for my dogs and is the recommended way to start using this type of collar. If needed, you can then clip it to only the one ring so it tightens. From day one, they have stopped most of their pulling. I also have treats that I put in my left had and give them while we're walking every so often, so that helps. They now walk by my side for the most part. I used to HATE taking them on walks. I've taken them every day this week and it is actually enjoyable now.

As it was explained to me by my vet and by trainers, large dogs have very thick muscles and skin in the neck. Because of this they barely notice any correction/pulling action that you make when training. Most dogs will learn to walk with any type of lead after enough training, but if something unexpected comes along you might have a hard time maintaining control if your dog is large and strong. Regular chain choke collars are more uncomfortable for the dogs because it catches their fur in the links, even if they are not pulling. This collar simply applies a more direct pressure, which the dog notices, rather than the constriction of a chain choke collar.

Because I live in a rural area with deer, etc. my vet suggested that I use this collar so that I'm not pulled down by the dogs if they attempt to chase other animals. Even the most well behaved dog can get overly excited with the natural instincts kick in. My dogs used to do some pulling at the start of our walks with a regular collar. With this one they don't make any attempt to pull at all. They have never shown any distress with this collar on, never pulled, never any injury, nothing. It hangs loosely around their necks while we walk. They absolutely do not mind wearing it at all. They sit patiently and wait for me to put it on. They walk nicely right by my side with no tension at all on the leash. If you purchase this collar remember that you only put it on before the walk and take it off after. No choke or training collar should be left on all of the time.

I've always used a pinch collar on my Doberman. Recently I moved to a higher traffic area, downsizing his yard, and getting the old collar over his head for every outing was not working for either of us. This accomplishes the easy on/off, but I'm a little disappointed. The prongs are not as rounded as his other collar, and it has come unlatched before when we were on a walk which is scary. Wouldn't really recommend this particular one, especially for the price.

This product was a lifesaver for my little chiweenie! I adopted her from a shelter when she was 3 month's old and she had no training at all! She is very stubborn and impossible to train, so I had no luck house training her outside. She would go 12 hours without pottying because she refused to use the grass, so I got some puppy pads and started using them on my enclosed back porch. She caught on to the pads quickly, but sometimes missed. I saw this item at petsmart and it has been well worth it (although $10 higher there). I bought 2 of these, one for my living room, and one for my bathroom, and my puppy already started using them right away. I have two of these and love them. It keeps my 3-month-old puppy from getting to the edges and just missing the pad and going part on the pad and part on the floor. It also allows me to get cheaper wee-wee pads that can leak through to the floor or carpet if I didn't have this. It snaps together in a breeze and stays together. It's very easy to clean and she knows just where both of her potties are at all times. I would highly recommend this for anyone with a smaller dog wanting to save on the pads that can get really expensive and wanting to keep their dog on the pad. I don't think it would work so well with larger dogs...but I can't really say because mine is only about 4 pounds. But it works great for us.

I purchased this product for a very strong, high prey drive male German Shepherd Dog that just didn't respond obediently in certain situations. His obedience was great 90% of the time until there was a competing distraction e.g. deer. Reward/treat based training only goes so far with a dog that has an overwhelming prey drive.

So about the collar...it's an excellent product. I really like the design and wanted to buy something made by a USA company. I have not been disappointed. Its quality is evident in both the receiver and transmitter. It conceals nicely in your pocket and ergonomics are great. It's very intuitive and provides feedback to the dog as either stimulation or vibration (pager feature is awesome and extremely helpful for getting attention and interrupting behaviors which is not found on most e-collars).

I recently purchased the Einstein 800ts collar. I have been using an older Tri Tronics collar for years. I have found this coller to be easy to use and I am able to use much lower levels of stimulation. The stimulation is much smoother as you can dial it up and down as needed without it turning on and off as you change levels. My dog responds very well at very low levels. Working nights I also like the lights on the collar and the ability to turn them off is good too.

have yet to try out the mile claim but so far no complaints. I bought this for the vibration feature and it was recommended by leerberg. I have a deaf Bull terrier/American bulldog i like to take into the woods and so far this thing has held up and never given me and issue. the vibration isnt the strongest thing but with training my dogs comes as if she was called. If she has starred to go after something or does not want to respond a simple 10-15 static nip is all that is needed for me at least. I have gone all weekend with only one charge and never had the low battery light function and i use the vibration quite often.
