Many of the Pet supply stores have reviews on this product, and I can confirm that this newer series seems made of much thinner plastic. They look nice, but simply don't carry weight very well. This one was purchased for a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, a 20 pound dog. If you carry it with the handle and the dog in the crate, it will flex to the point where I fear the door will fly open. I really wish they would stop cutting costs and make these from thicker material again. It would be well worth another $10 to protect a pet you love and don't want hurt.

These used to be nice and all I would purchase for my puppies. I am a breeder and crate train my puppies and used these crates for shipping (if needed) The last Petmate crate I purchased, I assembled, got it labeled and all ready to ship a puppy and the handle busted off. Thank God it happened here at home and I had time to purchase another brand. Save your money and get something else.

I ordered this after trying to find a crate that was taller and shorter for my toy poodle. He has a long neck and we are going overseas. He needs a taller kennel, not a longer kennel. In any case, that product doesn't exist so I finally gave up and ordered this kennel.

There is no carry handle attached to this kennel at all. I realize this is a product defect and that I can contact Amazon and return the kennel. However, that leaves me out in the air without a kennel to use when we fly as there isn't enough time now to reorder another kennel.

This attests to the inferior workmanship of the Petmate kennels. They used to be wonderful crates when the company was Doskocil. They also had a great little 16 inch tall kennel that worked great for toy poodles. The material wasn't as thin and the workmanship was much better.

I won't be ordering another Petmate kennel.

This product is SO markedly different from the couple-years-old Vari Kennel Jr. we already own which is fantastic and motivated me to purchase another one that it is difficult to believe they are the same brand. Our first Vari Kennel Jr. is made of rigid plastic that does not flex and has a sturdy handle. It is a quality carrier that we feel confident would keep our cat safe.

In contrast, the Vari Kennel we just received is flimsy, flexes easily and I could break the handle off if I gave it a hearty twist. In NO way would I feel comfortable putting a beloved pet in there and I would be foolish to believe it would protect her.

If you are a responsible pet owner that loves your animal, look elsewhere.

It works, but I have more than one dog. It's only the one barks excessively, so I bought this collar for him. The only problem is that when they wrestle, or if one of the other dog barks, it shocks the dog with the bark collar on. I wish it worked more on vocal cord vibrations than on random noises. I could clap my hands, and it would shock the dog. That doesn't work for me.

I have used this product for about a month now and an surprised at the quality. I am using this with one dog who had a shock collar before and one dog new to wearing a shock collar. It works great for both dogs and the intensity of the vibration is strong enough to get their attention and is all I usually have to use. We got this for our MinPin along with Don Sullivan's Perfect Dog DVD's. Together they were a great tool for training Rufus. He enjoys being off leash because he was trained with this collar. Very effective when used properly. He also seems to be comfortable in it all the time.

My dog Emma is a terrier and she is small but mighty. When she comes in contact with another dog, she goes nuts. This collar with training she walks like a little lady. The collar is great, when it is used with repetitive training. I do not recommend this collar if you are not going to be consistent and diligent with your dogs training it can be dangerous.

Lentek Super Bark Free Dog Training Device

I have to tell you, the performance of Lentek's Super Bark Free really surprised me. In a GOOD way!

Our neighborhood has a bunch of constantly-barking dogs. This drives me crazy as I work from home. I've called the police, who were useless and referred us to the Humane Society. Who was also useless. They said they'd send a letter or something. Regardless, nothing changed.

The most annoying dog BY FAR is our neighbor's behind our back yard directly facing our bedroom. There is a chain link fence and their house's wooden single wall between us and the dog 25' away. It's one of those annoying yappy dogs like a miniature pinscher or chihuahua mix. You know, that kind of shrill shrieky high-pitched yap that makes your skin crawl. This dog grated on our nerves all day and night long!

Out of desperation, I gambled on this device and I made sure I bought it from Amazon so that I'd be able to return it hassle-free when it proved useless. NNNOOO!!! Within an hour, that damn dog was silent. From then on, only SHORT bark episodes would escape that frigging dog before it shut up again. This dog would literally bark ALL day and ALL night (YES, at 2am, 3am, 4am, 5am, etc.)! We have had MANY sleepless nights because of this damn dog! Now it's more or less quiet!

My girlfriend works for an eccentric rich woman with SEVEN spoiled-rotten totally undisciplined papillons at her home. Yes, another small shrieky yappy breed. These dogs are neurotic and bark, ALL OF THEM, at EVERYTHING! She was ready to quit but decided to take the device to work. MUCH to her surprise, the dogs shut up immediately! They all stare at the device confused and whimper a bit but they shut up after one or two barks initially, then they think twice before barking. Now, the device is specifically labeled "for outdoor use only," but whatever. Those stupid yappers are quiet now.

This thing turned out to be a great investment! We got it almost 2 months ago and put rechargeable batteries in it and have recharged them once just to make sure it would not die on us. It appears that a single charge should last at least 2 months. It is well worth the price if you are simply going crazy from barking dogs.

My gripes about this product are that the other dogs nearby aren't affected by the unit. They are about 100' away. I WISH this unit had a longer range/higher sensitivity. Another thing it could use is a visual alert indicating when it's been activated and not just powered on. Preferably a rotatable visual indicator so the user can tell when the unit is sending its inaudible signal. Also, its audible mode is REALLY annoying. This may be designed to intensely upset the offending dog's owner into quieting that damn dog down. But the user will have to hear it also and it's worse than the dog barking. A simple single beep option to indicate that the unit has been tripped would be VERY nice.

I got this about six months ago to quiet my own dog before somebody decided to do something mean to her.

It worked. Shut her up right away. She was confused and irritated when she barked. That lasted for several days.

Then it rained.

This thing hasn't worked the same since. YES, the waterproof lid was on and screwed into place on the top of the unit, but the poor quality design allowed water to pool into that control panel and down into the circuitry of the unit. I woke to the shrill pitch of this device and had to get the batteries out to shut it off. (WHY ON TOP, LENTEK? WHY NOT ON THE SIDE?) Anyhow, this is useless to me now... I tried using it in a window for a while, but any noise we made in the house set it off.

If you want this, buy a waterproof box to house it in.

The neighbor's dog has been driving us crazy for years...it was so bad we almost sold our house to get away. The neighbor seemed powerless to keep the dog from barking when they weren't home...which he would do for hours and hours on end. I have been using the product for about a month and definitely recommend it. The amount of overall barking has been cut down by 80-90% (see below). Our neighbor's dog would bark for 1/2 hour non-stop several times a day to be let in the house and our lazy/uncaring neighbor would just let the dog bark away. This unit cut down on this type of barking by 95%.

There are a bunch of caveats to be aware of: 1)My unit is 20 feet from the dog pointed directly at him with no obstructions, 2)the sensitivity is set almost at the maximum and to one bark so the unit does go off randomly 5-10 times a day (completely inaudible to humans on the ultrasonic setting but it may interfere with the Pavlov training intent of the product) and 3)this will not completely silence the nusiance dog (he will still bark when other dogs pass by, at squirrels, etc. which is perfectly acceptable to us as this is reasonable barking).

The company had a reasonable return policy if the unit did not work as intended. I gave it 4 stars because they really should include the AC plug with the unit. In addition to buying this unit, I also recommend looking up your local town ordinances, there will most likely be a law against "nusiance" dogs.

Not perfect, but reduces barking enough that I've ordered a second Super Bark Free.

Pros:

My neighbor's three dogs bark at all hours. Fortunately for me, the physical layout is ideal for the Super Bark Free. I can hit them at almost point blank range, within 10 feet or less.

When activated due to boredom barking, the dogs react visibly when the Super Bark Free activates. They often seem to suddenly remember urgent business elsewhere.

They still bark when they think they have ample reason, for instance at the mailman, who passes them separated by only inches of distance (and a chain link fence). But even then they bark less.

The dogs no longer bark at me when I am sitting in my own back yard, which previously they considered to be a very offense activity. This greatly enhances the enjoyment of my property and makes the Super Bark Free worth every penny.

I have the unit set to two barks activation, with the sound sensitivity slider set to the middle of the slider dial. Otherwise, you risk the dogs getting used to the annoying (to them) ultra sonic sound and ignoring it.

The unit feels solid and well built, and except for the cap over the controls, the plastic is thick and good quality.

Cons:

Does not stop barking 100%. In my case I'd estimate an 80 to 90% reduction.

Based on other reviews, it is not rain proof. I bring mine in when rain is forecast. I intend to build a bird house type of enclosure to protect it from rain.

Does not come with AC adapter. The packaging says to check the Koolatron.com website to buy one, but they seem to have stopped carrying the adapter for the Super Bark Free. Leaving customers with 4 "D" Cell battery operation only.

The device calls for a 6 Volt 200mA adapter. Good luck finding one that matches voltage, amperage and has the correctly sized connector. I found an approximate match with a Nokia cell phone charger at Wall-Mart, but it will require an adapter or a rewire to get the correct size connector.

Batteries are VERY hard to insert.

The cap over the controls on the top of the unit has to be turned clockwise to remove and counter clockwise to tighten. Reverse threads with no good reason are stupid, stupid, stupid.

The Super Bark Free does not detect barks. It only detects sounds. So if you set the sensitivity too high it will false alarm due to wind noise, birds, car doors closing, etc. The dogs will get used to the sound, and will not associate it with a reason not to bark.

I bought this crate for shipping my 70lb Malamute/Shepherd from Seattle to Hawaii. It worked perfectly, got him to me safe and sound, and turns out to be a great on-the-go carrier as well.

In researching carriers I decided to go with a bigger than necessary carrier as my dog is fluffy and tall. This way he would pass muster at the airport. The carrier was delivered timely and without a problem. It was even easily assembled by my not quite mechanically inclined father. The carrier is solidly molded plastic with metal screws and plastic nuts that hold the two halves together. There are two screws at the door (one on each side), three along each side, and two in the back. The screws also have a square neck at their base allowing them to 'lock' into the bottom half of the carrier and not unscrew themselves in transit. There are full panels of large vents on all three sides (*back included*) on the top half of the carrier. I went with this style mainly because my dog is a bit of an escape artist and I read reviews of the other 'set-in' wire vents being popped out. It is also one of the few large carriers that has venting in the back to be IATA compliant. The door is a simple squeeze type lock, that rotates on a single stationary rod. The metal rods protrude into small molded cavities for each contact point (not just a hole) making it nice and secure. There are also pre-drilled zip-tie holes to even more securely lock the door. They even got these right putting one hole on each side at the top corners of the door, one on each side on the bottom corners of the door, and one on each side in the middle of the door sides and staggered it so one side zips to the top half of the carrier, and the other zips to the bottom half. They also have pre-drilled airplane tie down holes in the corners of the lip where two halves meet. The bottom of the carrier has a raised center area creating an approximately 2 inch border "moat" around the outer edge of the crate bottom that helps pool any fluids away from the dog should they be unable to control themselves on the scary flight. It does not come with a carry handle on the top of the carrier (it's too heavy to carry like that) but does have built in carry grips on the sides of the carrier. The camouflage color is actually subtle and not obnoxious at all. The bottom half is solid dark green. I am very pleased with the carrier and definitely recommend it for your pet transport needs.

Oh, the only down side. For travel purposes it does not come with food/water bowls, or required 'live animal' stickers. But those are easily found here on Amazon, or at your local pet store.

Couldn't be more pleased with this crate. Solid plastic. Good construction. Door works fine. Doesn't look bad.

My newly adopted pit bull went right in and made it her second home.

Great little training tool to help run a home more efficiently! Took some time in the beginning but our puppy eventually got the hang of it and now rings it like crazy! One piece of advice don't let the bell become associated with play time outside or the dog will ring it every time he/she gets bored, which for our puppy can be every 10 minutes!

Looks great and it was a great concept but my puppy prefers to sit by the door instead of ringing the bell. The noise scares him a bit. Even when I put a treat on the bell to make him touch it, he'll take the treat ever so carefully to not ring the bell.

This kit breaks down dog training into little steps. The DVD was very helpful because you watch real and untrained dogs, receiving their first lesson. Karen explaines what she doing and why, all through the lessons. You don't have to know everything about training. You don't even have to know a lot about it. You just need to know one small step at a time.

You don't have to carry the book around either. The 'Click 10 easy steps' cards on the key chain provide easy reminders of what to do and how to do it. Each step you practice and teach your dog gets easier as you go. Your dog learns and you become more proficient using the clicker, with each step you teach. Before you know it, you are completely trained in using the clicker. My dog remembered the lessons, even when I wasn't consistant with training times. He did learn faster when he was hungry. I used cut up cheese sticks.

I do recommend having several clickers. I found I was often without one, because it was on the shelf or in another coat pocket. They can easily be purchased at the pet shop and are very inexpensive.

Quality of dvd was lacking in quality and substance. I am convinced that clicker training is excellant training. I am disappointed in the training provided on the dvd.

This is a good kit for starting. I found that the treats were good but it is a very small package. I wish there were two clickers because I found that I needed one in the house and one for a coat pocket. Between my horses, chickens and dogs I now have half a dozen so they are handy. The video is a little amateur, but one of the valuable lessons that I learned from it was at first it feels like chaos, but as soon as the animal "catches on" it all becomes so much easier. It comes so easy that it almost feels like luck, but not so. Clicker training is based on firm scientific principles and is a humane, proven (and I feel, vastly superior) dog training method. Read the book, watch the video, play with the tricks and make your dog your partner! Do it now! Click!! good dog.

Dogtra Super X 2 Dog Training Collar

I have 2 hunting dogs (at heart) who will chase anything and follow any trail... I recently bought 11 acres of forest in PA and had both of my dogs out running around. I noticed that they saw something and called them but they must of been in the mood to chase because they both darted away. (They always come when I call them, except today) After a 10 hrs. (not exaggerating) they returned to the property completely dehydrated...

The next day, I went to Cabela's and bought this. It took 1 day for them to learn when I "Vibrate" them they better listen.

Now we can hike through the woods and I am not afraid of them running away.

Side-note: It makes it a lot easier for someone to watch them when I am on vacation too.

After using these collars for about a month, they are everything that the manufacturer says. I have 2 10 month old Doberman puppies and at +80# each, I can honestly say that I have total control over them. Being brothers from the same litter, they are very competitive. From the very first day, they have responded very well to the "nick" feature. After about 2 weeks they are responding to the page feature very well. It is nice to be able to talk to them rather than yell. Normal operating setting is between 20-30. Only had to use the higher setting (80) once when a stray dog entered the yard. After both dogs broke into a chase across our field and caught up to him, I only had to nick them 2-3 times and they broke off and came right back. This saved me from chasing them down all afternoon and possibly breaking up a fight. I can usually get about a week out of a charge if I shut the units off while I am away.

Really is only effective at close range and if you charged it throughly and if you charged the controller and if the dog is in direct range and if you activated it properly. Good luck trying to manage the dog when things get out of control, better get your checklist ready.

My daughter told me about this as she has an incessant barker and nothing else worked for her. I bought it and was very happy with it. You only have to use it once or twice and the dogs don't want to hear it again. All I have to do is to hold it up and the barking will stop. It does send a high pitch sound. I recommended it to my neighbor who has two barking dogs and she bought 2, one for her other residence. Recommend this because you don't have to use it much because the barking does stop.

I hoped this would be automatic, but now see I'd have to have gotten the SUPER Barker Breaker. It worked great at first, but my dogs got used to it and if they really want to bark at someone coming to the door this won't stop them anymore.

I have 2 Yorkies and a Maltese. These chicken breast wraps (with liver especially) are their favorite.
