Even though I purchased a "small" size of the Gentile Leader, it was not a good fit for my 13 week Australian Terrier puppy. Therefor, it was not effective as a training device for "on lease" walking. Her head was still too small and not proportioned correctly for the head collar to be adjusted correctly. I think for a slightly larger puppy this leader would work as advertised.

Bought this for my mini pin/Italian Greyhound mix and it did what it is supposed to do. It was easy to put on my dog, and it did turn him around when he tried to charge. I am a huge fan of this harness! When I first adopted my dog Jackson, we tried EVERYTHING to encourage better behavior when out in the world. At home he was an angel, but on the street? He caused a scene with every little trigger. This Gentle Leader saved us all a lot of grief! Over the winter I became a little lax with my training/obedience, allowed him some more freedom since he had done well for some time, and gave away our trusty Gentle Leader. Well, now it's summertime and both people and animals are out in full force... triggers galore! While he is no longer a temperamental (a nice way of saying aggressive) boy, he does still need a little help with his excited approach. So! I am thrilled to have received our new Gentle Leader, and couldn't be happier that he was happy as can be to see it pulled out of the package!!
