The product seems to momentarily curb my puppy's interest in an object immediately after application, but it doesn't take long before the puppy is back chewing on it again (a few hours). I think it's hit or miss. Either your dog won't care or it will hate it. It probably also depends on whether your dog will learn from the first attempt, or will keep going back until the gel just wears off.
It'll probably work great for a quick learning dog with a sensitive palette, but seems to be ineffective for the rambunctious and curious puppy who learns the world through its mouth.

I have used the Grannick bitter apple spray somewhat successfully for years (am using it with my third puppy now). This gel formula stays put longer and doesn't have to be applied as often, but even it wears off and needs renewing. But, it is a gel, so it cannot be applied to as many items as the spray (think sofa cushions!). Since this puppy seems to think wood is an appetizer, I am finding it helpful. Nothing stops all chewing, vigilant owners are the best defense, but we can't be everywhere at all times, so this is a definite help. Four stars instead of five simply because it cannot be applied to as many places as the spray.Read Best Reviews of Grannick Bitter Apple Gel Formula with Flip-top for Dogs 4oz Here
This stuff should be labeled "gold in a bottle.". For all that I tried to get puppy to stop chewing... This is the ONLY thing that has worked. This is going on my 3rd bottle. The only bad thing is it does wear off, and have to respray in a couple of days. I use it on walls, cords, shoes, etc. Any and everything that I don't want him to explore with his mouth!!Want Grannick Bitter Apple Gel Formula with Flip-top for Dogs 4oz Discount?
While I am a big fan of the bitter apple spray, I am dissapointed by the gel. I'd though that being a gel, it would stay effective longer and I could avoid repeat applications. That is not the case. This product is no more efficient that the spray and it costs four times as much per ounce.
