I got a mountain rope collar for one of my dogs over 12 years ago, and the old boy is still wearing it, so when I was shopping for a choker type collar for my new dog, I looked for that type again. When I found these collars on Amazon, I thought I'd found exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunately, when I got the new collar and tried it out, there's a huge design flaw that makes it useless as a choker: those nice, beefy aluminum sleeves they use on the ends catch the ring that's supposed to slide freely, making it impossible to give a quick little correction with the collar. Short of yanking the dog's head halfway off, the ring stays trapped below the sleeve. It just won't work as it's supposed to.I'm giving the collar 3 stars because it really is good, sturdy material, but the poor design just kills it's usability.
