PetSafe Wireless Fence (PIF-300) with 2 Extra Battery Packs
Firstly, I have been using the PetSafe RFA-67 batteries in my dog's collar for 5 1/2 years, and they never give out in just 2 weeks. Perhaps the person actually bought some other brand and wrote a review here? Over the years I have used them, they have consistently lasted 3-4 months each. I never remove them from my dog's collar and my transmitter is always left turned on. I do, however, only put the collar on my dog as I let him outside, and remove the collar when I let him back in the house.
Secondly, the collar has never just randomly shocked my dog. The only time time this could happen is if you were to load your dog inside your car while he is wearing the collar. The metal car blocks the signal so in essence it is as if your dog has moved outside his containment zone.
I think the PetSafe system is fabulous for situations like mine, when you have a large property that you want your dog to have partial access to and you don't want to dig out a trench to lay the wire.
We planned to train our dog to the system when he was 4 months old. In preparation for it, we never allowed him to go outside what would be the containment zone (so he was always on leash in our yard prior to training him to the PetSafe system). We've been using this system for about 5 years for our lab and love it. We were able to fine-tune the settings so that we can keep him JUST where we want him he can't go past certain spots inside the house or outside. And we can change that area if needed. It's also extremely convenient that we can bring this along with us when we travel or he stays with my parents he knows by now exactly what the beeping means and figures out his new boundaries extremely quickly and is never shocked, even when in a new place with a new "safe zone". In fact, I don't think he's been shocked more than twice with this.
We now have another dog and will be buying a 2nd collar for him.
The one downside to this that we have noticed it seems that cars can affect the wireless radius. When we park our cars in different spots in the driveway sometimes it "pushes" the radius in. Again, the dog hears the beep and figures out his radius has changed though.

I don't normally do reviews but I felt as though I needed to speak up here. This unit has given our beagle harrier his freedom to run around in our yard. We live in a deed restricted community that only allows 3 ft high fences--which our dog could easily jump. Now with this fence, he knows his boundaries and stays in the yard. And when we had the old style in the ground fence, if he ran though the barrier, he would not want to come back for fear of being shocked again. With this unit, it actually encourages our dog to come back into the safe zone. He has only tested this once....chasing a bunny. As he left the safe area, I called him back. He turned back around, ran to me and learned that he could safely come home with no fear of being shocked. I have not had any problems with the batteries either. Ours usually last about 3 months before I have to change it. I buy them here on Amazon because they have the best prices around! It sounds like (in another review) that their actual collar may be malfunctioning. We did have to get a new collar for our dog because the clip broke. However, we did not have to get a new receiver (found on the collar). We just bought another regular collar and my husband attached the receiver to the new collar. Another bonus, my brother-in-law also has this wireless fence for his dog and when we go visit (3 hrs away), we only bring our collar and both dogs are free to run around his yard. (Our dog just follows the lead of their dog and somehow "knows" where the boundaries are.) Same goes for when they come visit us! This is the best wireless fence ever!Read Best Reviews of PetSafe Wireless Fence (PIF-300) with 2 Extra Battery Packs Here
My dog is a stubborn puppy that is now contained to 180 ft area where he can run and play and just be a puppy. I had trouble with him running away to chase a squirrel or rabbit and getting distracted and not coming back. Or he would run away and jump on people walking by to greet them. With the fence we no longer have these problems. The training was very informative and we followed it as directed. However, level 3 didn't do a thing for our dog. He just shook his ears and kept on running. We had to keep retrieving him on leash and bringing him back into the containment area. He realized that after he ran thru the fence it would stop shocking him after a while and he would just keep on going but was scared of the noise because the collar keeps beeping. So we set it on level 5. He ran thru the fence again to chase a car then got shocked, he yelped pretty good this time, we took him back into the containment area and he NEVER tried it again! Now the sound is enough to detour him from running thru it. Even for a rabbit or squirrel he won't go past the fence. He is a happy puppy that can run, chase animals, dig and play in the creek but most importantly he is now SAFE! MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!Want PetSafe Wireless Fence (PIF-300) with 2 Extra Battery Packs Discount?
Simply, this system is easy.......easy to put in place and easy to train the dogs. I have a 1 year old JR and a 10 year old Shepherd. Both had the basics down in two days and were trustworthy on it by the end of the week. We've been using it almost two months and I'm considering putting both their collars on tone only. The area the dogs have to roam in is actually quite large, I didn't visualize so much freedom for them. The older dog is having some problem relaxing in his new area and stays pretty close to the house but is slowly venturing further out. I also want to add that I had to call customer service once about the prongs for long haired dogs. She was helpful, courteous and had me set up quickly. So win win with this company/system.Friday, June 6, 2014

Stay Off Mat
Well, to make my story short I really like them and they are working. My only issue is they are a little small, but for the money I can't complain.
The reason, I gave it 4 stars is because based on the picture the mat looks much deeper but it's not it's 47"Long x 8.5"deep.My dog used to jump up on my table or desk when we weren't home and chew up my glasses or whatever else might get left up there. We came home one night to find it on the floor, with a few scratch marks on the desk but I don't think she has been back up there again! She hates that noise!I purchased this mat for the couch and it really keeps the dogs off! They HATE the sound of it, when they hop on there! I don't have to keep it on all the time! They stay away from it. Every few days though, I will turn it on and touch the mat, when the dogs are in the room just to remind them! Then I turn it off again. I just ordered a 2nd one for the love seat. I highly recommend it!!! It really works!!

I bought 2 of these to try to train my cats to stay off the couch and the counters. They take one 9v battery to operate and have an on/off switch. I should have looked at the dimensions and actually got a ruler out to see what 48 x 8.5 inches looks like but i went off the picture on the box which is greatly embellished. This thing is Small. I overlap two of them for the seat of the couch but the size is actually pretty good for the counters.on two of my cats it is still very effective but the rest of them have gotten used to it i suppose. Now it just annoys me. when they jump up on the mat an annoying high pitch sound goes off and doesnt stop until they get off but im finding that all but 2 of my cats just sit down on it and look around like, "whats that noise?" it does make me get up and remove them from the surface they arent supposed to be on but it no longer scares them.
My boston terrier hates the sound so much that he will jump and get scared but then its like he gets mad and wants to eat the thing...barking and nipping and carrying on.
Im glad i bought them because it does work on some of my animals but make sure you know exactly what the size will look like and do not go by the picture on the box! This works great. The dogs tried jumping on the couch a few times and got off as soon as the mat sounded. They don't even try to get on the couch anymore.

We have an adopted cockapoo who gets very anxious at simple situations-when we're leaving, if his routine is thrown off, anything. We use these calming chews to just help him settle down when he's a little nervous. I trust the ingredients, and the results seem to be worth it! Not for everyday, but great just to help soothe our pup. It's the puppy version of a cup of chamomile tea.Want Dog Supplies Soft Chew Calming Aid 65 Soft Chews 4.7oz Discount?

ROK Stretch Lead
He hardly stretched this leash at all. Instead what happened was I was still getting pulled along, but could not pull back to slow him because with that extra force it finally did start to stretch. So in other words I lost all control, but still got dragged forward.
It did eliminate the jolt, and it is certainly a very well made and strong leash. For a really strong dog I imagine it would do a little better. That, or maybe if I had gotten the size leash made for a smaller dog it would have had more give when he pulled.
Overall a very nice leash, but just didn't work for me.I bought this leash as an alternative to my retractable leash for my 20 pound Xolo and now find myself using it on all our walks. The handle is very comfortable and easy to hold. The leash is a good length--some might find it on the short side, but it won't drag on the ground, which often happens with smaller dogs. The flexible mid-section is what really sets this leash apart from others. It provides enough give to be flexible, but enough resistance to discourage constant pulling and it helps to soften the impact of sudden lunges courtesy of our neighborhood squirrels. Like the handle, the stretchy section is easy on the hands. The loop towards the bottom is a great way to keep your dog close and under control when needed. My dog walks fairly well on a leash with some tendency to pull and lunge when excited. If you have a sled dog wannabe, I'm not sure how this leash will work, although I imagine it would still be an improvement over conventional leashes.I love this leash. That little bit of bungee effect really helps if the dog does pull.
But my favorite part is the smaller loop hold, when you want to keep the dog close to you.
The handle is very comfortable in your hand.
My favorite leash by FAR!This is a great product by ROK Straps; best dog leash I've ever purchased for the value at Amazon. Really well made elastic material.

For Two dogs Esky 100LV Remote Control Dog Training Shock & Vibration VIBRATE Collar with LCD Displa
As anyone will know when using these collars, timing is critical to correct unwanted behaviour. When the handset is not used for a few minutes, it goes into a "sleep mode" & to re-activate it, you have to hold down one of the buttons for approximately 5 seconds for it to switch back on again.
I thought the set was faulty until I contacted the seller, who explained this is what happens. This is the response I received from the seller: "If the remote turns into sleep mode, you must press on the "mode" button for at least 5 seconds to activate the remote"
Therefore, to me, any correction was futile as the unwanted behaviour had already happened & correcting my dog after the incident achieves nothing.
If they could resolve this sleep mode on the handset, this would be a good little set. As it is, this set is ineffective, in my opinion, unless you can constantly press the mode button to prevent it from going into sleep mode.
In fairness, the seller was extremely helpful & courteous & gave me a prompt refund, which is why I gave this product 2 stars rather than 1.
I just wanted to share my experience, so that others did not have to go through the same problems I did. I have now spent a little more & purchased the Petsafe Yard & Park Remote Dog Trainer PDT00-10603 which is absolutely superb & far superior quality. You can buy these for $60 (inc. shipping) through a well known auction site. This product saved a dog. We got our dog from the humane society. He had been taken from a pound the day he was to be uthanized. He was the same mix (bassett/Corgi) as the dog our kids had grown up with and passed away. We picked him up and quickly realized why he was at a shelter. Hyper, distructive... would run and thought any sort of reprimand was play time. He chewed up leather boot and tore up a room of carpet. We tried to take him back but they could not take him. This colar was our last resort. After 2 days he is becoming the dog we knew he could be. He is allowing us to bond with him positively. We are no longer just punishing him. He does associate the controller with the shock but not the colar...we have only gone up to 25 on the colar (100available) this product has literally saved this dog...it stopped the cycle of behaviors and was exactly what we needed. For the price it was perfect. I do not know about the longevity but I do not think we will need it much longer.I just recieved the item in the mail today. Everything came brand new and was wrapped nicely. Putting the collar together was quick and easy, the one thing i would have liked was to have the instructions include a page about putting the collar together. its very self explanatory, so it was no problem for me, but for others who are less adept at any sort of assembly, it would have been nice for them to have thorough instructions included. As soon as I got the collar I put it together and programmed the remote to act on one collar since I only have one dog (but the remote works for two). Its very light and I was almost worried it would be cheap, but I feel confident it will hold up. It works nicely too, i tested the setting for shock on 2 (1-100), on myself, and it works without causing pain.
I put it on my dog, who we cannot break of jumping on people and doors (chewing EVERYTHING and digging also), and on setting 2 she was already catching on. I'm very happy that such a low setting is teaching my 1 year old hyper lab to mind her manners around people. I have a hard time teaching her by raising my voice, and it makes me uncomfortable to raise my hand to her or discipline her psychologically in a way such as cesaer milan would. Such methods simply DO NOT work with this dog! She is smart, too clever for her own good, and she knows how to call the bluff. It was very upsetting to have to decide to get a shock collar, but I'm happy to think she wont need it for long, I used it once as she jumped on the door (which she continously does and scratches it) on the low setting and she immediatly put her ears back and sat down. since then, it has been 35 minutes since I used the collar and she is behaving wonderfully.
I hope it works as effectively when she tries to run up to strangers, she loves to be pet, but she makes a strait beeline for people-even across the streetand it can be scary for us and to folks who arent comfortable around dogs. They don't realize she just wants to play becuase she has such intense energy! As long as it keeps her safe from destructive habits, keeps her from running towards strangers, and helps to keep her from running in the street, I think getting this collar will be worth it! The functions all seem to work, but if i have any other comments about this collar and the remote I will udpate! This product will work good, but I had to take the batteries out to reset it everyday. I am on my 3rd collar, the plastic on the side that hold the collar will break. Both of mine broke within 2 weeks. I would say spend a little more and get a collar not made of plastic.Esky Remote Control Dog Training Transmitter & Rechargeable Collar , 100 Level Shock and VibrationEsky Remote Control Dog Training Transmitter & Rechargeable Collar , 100 Level Shock and VibrationThe price is right. It works well when it works.
The lack of instructions is frustrating.
Biggest issue is that it shuts down with lack of movement, and to restart, you have to remove collar, unscrew pins, open box, remove a battery for 15 seconds, reinstall the battery, reassemble the the unit and replace it on dog.

ANTI BARK STOP BARKING ELECTRIC SHOCK DOG TRAINING COLLAR
Buy ANTI BARK STOP BARKING ELECTRIC SHOCK DOG TRAINING COLLAR Now
uses up the battery often. doesn't work on low barks, growls or whines...only works with loud barks. (our dog's main issue is whinning, he whines for everything) the collar must be so tight for it to have skin contact to work (almost choking the dog) (sometimes I wonder if he's not barking because he can't breath!) I don't think it would be easy to make skin contact on a dog that has a lot of hair. the price is great, so if you have a minor barking issue and a smart dog you could probably get away with using this product and not have to go thru too many batteries before the dog associates the collar with the barking...we have a border collie and he's pretty smart...it's to the point now that we can put the collar on (not as tight, but snug) and regardless of the batteries status, he is pretty quiet when he's wearing it. We use a similar one for 'whinning' with a remote control, so he 'thinks' the collar equals quiet, lay down, do nothing...which means we have to take it off a lot of the time or he will go nuts with bottled up energy!Read Best Reviews of ANTI BARK STOP BARKING ELECTRIC SHOCK DOG TRAINING COLLAR Here
I chose this product because the price was good and really needed it. I have two dogs, one seemed to take to it a lot quicker than the other. I lived a town home so I could not have dogs that constantly barked. I have smaller dogs that are usually known for barking. However, now when they do not wear the collar they will bark only once when someone comes to the door instead of constantly barking. It was hard to find the right size collar and I didn't like that it wasn't waterproof. I didn't think I would need it to be water proof until one day the dogs were outside and it started to rain. I was worried that the collar would malfunction if it got wet and the dogs might get shocked or hurt by malfunction. Luckily that didn't happen. If I were going to have my dogs wear this 24/7 or outside for long periods of time, I would not choose this collar just because of unpredictable weather.Want ANTI BARK STOP BARKING ELECTRIC SHOCK DOG TRAINING COLLAR Discount?

Spotty Puppy Pads 25 Count
Buy Spotty Puppy Pads 25 Count Now
Since we've been using the pads, there is no dog urine smell in the utility room. We like them really well. They are very absorbent and hold up well.We bought these to use in the Spotty Training Place which, as an aside, we love. This is the only pad on the market that fits the Training place from end to end and assures little to no mess in the base of the Training Place. However, they are not as absorbent as some of the higher quality pads and, at least for our 8 month old Havanese, does not last a week. Two to three days at most and afterwards, the pup won't use it, I suspect because of the smell. As soon as we replace it, he goes back to using the training place religiously. So, we will continue to use it because it is the only pad that fits the tray but wish it would last longer.
