My Miniature Golden Retriever mastered these bells in less than two days at 3 months old. I take them traveling with us too. I hang on hotel door and he walks under them to give a gentle sound to pee. He beats them with both front paws when he has to poop. I love them and refer all my friends to these bells. Very easy to use. Has had the obedience effect we desired. Our very stubborn 90lb

shepherd is now very submissive. Only draw back is the actual collar is difficult to manipulate. Because it is necessary to take off every night, it would be better if it were an adjustable snap on collar.

This collar was recommended by my dog trainer. So far, it works quite good! I mostly use it for unwanted barking, jumping up on the back door and the command "leave it" only if saying it doesnt work the 1st time.

In not too much more time, I won't need it at all. It doesn't take much "zap" when you are training a fairly smart 8 month old GSD.

The only downside is it seems to need recharging every day even when not in use. This isn't enough to take my 5 star rating away tho. I would recommend this product!

i-crates are very nice but I purchased this exact crate and size that is shown. I researched to make sure this was the correct size for my mom's chihuaha mix. he is only 10 pounds and this crate was way too small for him. its so small that i had trouble opening it, the latch keep getting stuck. Not sure how the dog in the picture fits in the crate b/c my moms dog had no room to move. It will cost me money to ship it back. For this size crate, go to the pet store and make sure your dog will fit in it first or just automatically go a size up.

I have an 80lb dog that usually walks right by my side. Sometimesshe pulls so i thought I would try the leash as i have a rotor cuff tear. The leash is way too long. I have had a problem with my German shepherd pulling and the leash gives her more room and it stretches to allow her to reAch. It does snap her back but not til she's at a good length. I think I needed to get a shorter leash but the weight description said I needed the one I ordered.

My husband wanted a leash that is more substantial and not flat so that he can have a better grip. After moving to a new place we had no fenced area for our 3 dogs to go out in. We decided not to put up a fence since we have many more acreas than previously. Training them to go out without a leash became more difficult at nighttime since they like to run around for a bit. It's impossible to see where they are and to keep an eye on them. We have 2 Dalmatians and a Sheltie who all have a delayed reaction to coming in when called. Each dog has a different colored collar to identify them easier. I think it also helps them to see where they are running. That is why I tripped over our firepit running after one of them and they did not. Sometimes it is a little harder to see our sheltie because of her longer fur but we try to matt her fur down before we put it on her. We have a rescue dog that "submission pees" due to fear of humans. This stuff is great and really stops the urine stain from smelling or staining. This is indespensable for any dog owner who is pottie training their dog. I have tried the others, and this is by far the best.

I liked this product. It works well on our rabbits, except for one who actually licks the stuff off of wires, floorboards, and anything else we need to spray it on. For her we have to use a second spray, but we can't use just the other one because another one of our bunnies likes to lick it! But as long as you don't have bunnies with weird tastes, I think this is a great product: it's not too nasty when spraying to upset you, but I wouldn't get it on your tongue, and it works at keeping animals (at least rabbits in my experience) from chewing things they shouldn't.

My only negative for this spray is doesn't sink in the air. After spraying things in a room I've walked in an hour later and could still smell it floating in the air (again, fine as long as you don't try to get it on your tongue). But that's a small price to pay for something that works.

Well, my dog has actually only worn this for about two minutesmy husband felt bad for him when he saw how funny he walked with it on. It probably would have worked too, but after he took it off, we haven't put it back on because it's just a pain to dolots of straps and stuff everywhereit gets confusing. They should have had the buckles markedthat might have made it easier and more user-friendly and it might actually have been used then.

This product is so difficult to figure out. If you were trying to assemble and put it on a dog mannequin it would be hard, and we are all actually trying to put this on our wildly thrashing, over-excited dogs. It just doesn't work! I assembled it properly a few times, the other times, just sort of improvised, i.e. putting limbs through loops, pulling cords tight and tying them together until my dog was clearly hindered from moving freely. There has to be a better way to do this. maybe color-coded pieces? Or a little more structure and less one-size-fits-all? At any rate, the first time I turned my back, she gnawed through the nylon straps in like, .5 seconds. I sewed them back with my sewing machine, tried it a couple more times, then my husband stepped in and installed a trolley/cable. The idea of my dog being tethered whenever she is out appalls me, but the harness just wasn't practical.

by Guardian and saw where people were complaining about them being chewed off, so I also bought a bottle of no chew spray. The spray was worthless on the harness. If you aren't around to reapply the spray every 30 minutes to an hour, there is no need to even use the no chew spray since it just evaporates. Our dog is jumping our 5 foot fence with NO problem. I didn't have a problem getting the harness on her and getting it on correctly every time, but my husband never could figure it out. My dog learned to stand decently still while I put it on because she knew she was getting to go outside and run and play versus being tethered outside on a cable just to use the bathroom. She walked and ran funny at first but she soon got used to the harness and did not get out of the fence. The problem came when I left her outside too long and she laid down to rest. The leg straps slipped down her legs and she got out of it. Luckily she came into the house instead of getting loose. Next was that I left it on her when she came in so I didn't have to fight her to get it on and off (the first day). She and her sister chewed through a strap. I sewed it back on. Then she got it off a cabinet and she chewed through a clip. I replaced the clip. She chewed through another strap, sewed it back, and lastly through 3 clips. Now I don't have enough extra strap to repair it since she has grown and chewed through it in the same place a few times. I am buying another one today and going to sew the straps in place so there are no loose ends to tempt her and it is going to be stored inside a cabinet so she can't get to it when she doesn't wear it. I REALLY wish some company made one of these in leather. Now that I know that it works on her, I would gladly pay good money for one I knew would hold up to a 1.5 year old puppy.

D.T. Systems SPT2432 Training Collar, Black

Stay away from D.T. System training collars. Poor quality and short life span, especially when you consider the price. I paid premium price for a training collar and it worked for about 10 months. This collar was used on an inside dog. I returned to the manufacture for warrantythat's $25.00 for them to just check it. It worked for about another 10 months and not not serviceable again. I purchased a different brand collar.

I have purchased and have other DT Systems products (2 H20 collars and transmitters), but this will be my last DT Systems purchase.

My problems started when the screw that attached the lanyard to SPT2432 came out, leaving me with only the lanyard, and no transmitter.

My training partners and I searched for an hour but couldn't find the transmitter.

Giving up, I contacted DT Systems about purchasing a replacement. "Fine no problem, return both collars so that we can pair them with the new transmitter."

I returned the 2 collars and a week or so later received a call. They no longer had a transmitter that would pair with my 2 collars and only had a demo set that would work. I paid full price for a new transmitter, they kept my practically new collars and I received a well used "demo" set with a transmitter that only holds a charge for 30 min and one of the collars' locator beepers can only be heard from 30 yards away. I would have been better off applying my $250 to the purchase of a new system, but now I am disgruntled. They can have my $250 and my new collars but they will no longer have my business.

I bought this training system because it is the more complete and with more features in the current market: includes an electronic/light tester to test signal, and you can test it on your own skin to see what your dogs will feel (in case is too strong, you can lower it), rechargeable and replaceable battery, more control on stimulation: 'nick' or 'momentary', and 'continuous' button , and Vibration, and Rising stimulation, and locator, waterproof , long range etc.. I also liked the D.T. Systems's idea of integrating a Remote training device with a No-Bark trainer. However, this device is not the one, and has some issues as all the other brands as well:

First this expensive SPT2432 collar is not what DT Systems claims:

"The Super Pro Elite TM series is the very first and only electronic dog training system to integrate a Remote training device with a No-Bark trainer. Thus, eliminating the need for two separate collar systems."

FYI: The material of the orange collar is not the same as the black collar. I liked the orange collar more, as it is more soft and easier to put on the dog. The black collar is hard and seems to be different material.

1) The 2 point contacts / electrodes are like rounded nails (around 1 centimeter each), and with short term use can hurt/damage the dog's skin. The manuals of these collars including other brands clearly indicate that, and the name of the disease is: Pressure Necrosis. You have to clean dog skin regularly in case of irritation. The point is: as the manual indicates you can not leave the dog unattended when the dog has that collar (as no electronic device is perfect, as indicated in the manual). Whoever created those stainless steel contacts should try them on themselves for a few hours and see how that feels. This is not the only electronic collar with that nail type contact issue. All of the ones I saw including other brands have 2x very similar contacts on each collar (some brands longer than others). I would have preferred something like: multiple short rounded contacts around the dog's neck to ensure conductivity, or something else. I tried the collar with a proper snug fit (as indicated in the manual) on myself for less than a minute and the 2x contacts left marks on my skin. Imagine if you were to keep the collar on for multiple hours, and then look at the condition of your skin.

2) Deceiving advertising: Super Pro e-Lite is NOT: No-Bark Trainer and Beeper Locater in 1 collar. It is only a Beeper Locater.

I did some research and the only model that used to be 2 in 1 is the DT Systems SPT-7802. That collar is not longer available, not even in ebay nor in the manufacturer's website. It was released a few years ago, but the only online store that had it in their system indicates the following about that collar: Current Status: Unavailable / Discontinued. I did read the manual of the SPT-7802 and found out that you can have only 1 option active at a time. An expensive device that does not provide the option of controlling both modes at the same time becomes useless, considering the high price.

A collar claiming those 2 features should allow the user to have 3 options:

No-Bark Trainer and normal remote stimulation mode ON (barking is controlled + useful in cases were the dog is doing something that the dog is not supposed to do owner can send remote stimulation to dog)

only No-Bark Trainer ON

only Beeper Locater ON

3) The quality of the screen is not good at all. I tried to carefully clean the screen with just a microfiber towel that I use for my glasses because I saw a little bit of dust on it, and just by doing that it left small marks on the screen. I did not see a plastic cover on top of the screen that needed to be removed, but after seeing the mark on the screen I preferred to avoid more contact with the screen. Imagine a screen of that quality for a simple phone.. you would have to buy a screen protector for it prior to start using the device, otherwise it will have tons of marks that would not be possible to eliminate.

I would have kept the device if it provided those essential options mentioned above, and had multiple or better designed contacts to ensure conductivity and most importantly a collar that does not damage the dog skin. These collars are supposed to help the dog's owner eliminate issues like bark, behavior, carrying 2 collars (1 for no bark, and 1 for training) etc.. not for creating new issues: skin irritation, Pressure Necrosis, 2 collars etc..

By the way, these are some of the instructions included in the manuals for these type of collars:

Place the collar high on your dog's neck close to the ears. Center the contact points underneath your dog's neck, touching the skin.

Note: It is sometimes necessary to trim the hair around the contact points to make sure that contact is consistent.

Check the tightness of the collar by inserting one finger between the end of a contact point and your dog's neck. The fit should be snug but not constricting

Check the fit to prevent excessive pressure by being able to insert one finger between a contact point and your dog's skin.

Examine your dog daily for any signs of a rash or sore.

A condition called Pressure Necrosis, which is a devitalization of the skin due to excessive and prolonged contact against the contact points.

If a rash or sore is observed, discontinue the use of the collar for a few days.

If the condition persists beyond 48 hours, see your veterinarian.

Your dog's neck and the contact points must be washed weekly with a wash cloth and mild hand soap, then rinsed thoroughly.

A loose collar can promote skin irritation from moving or rubbing too much on a dog's neck while they are running or training. The proper snug fit will help prevent this from occurring.

I've used this model, and the generation model before it for many years now. Reliability is superb. The other review doesn't make sense. D.T.'s service Department coupled with the SPT 2432 lifetime warranty makes it a no brainer. Many times collars don't seem to work because they are misapplied to the dog, incorrectly positioned, heavy dog hair on the neck, etc. Yes, there is actually a correct way to put the collar on the neck as well as prepping the neck. You can actually do it wrong and not be happy. Seek the help of a professional dog trainer if you are unsure. Each collar has a 'how to' book in it.

PRO's:

1. Has a 'nick' or 'momentary' button. When pressed it only delivers a fraction of a second stimulation. Very humane.

2. Has a 'continuous' button which when pressed and held can deliver constant stim up to 8 seconds until the fail safe kicks in which causes it turn off (in case you were to accidentally sit on it or something unknowingly).

4. Has Rising stimulation. Use this for avoidance training, i.e. chasing cars, deer, etc.

5. Has a beeper that works 3 ways. You can touch a button to cause it to beep so that you can find your dog or you can use one of two more settings in which it will beep as your dog runs about. This feature has a built in motion detector that lets you know when your dog has stopped by changing the beep duration.

6. Antenna is built into the dog collar so no problems losing/breaking external antenna's.

7. Has a rechargeable battery that lasts about 4 or 5 years of heavy use and is inexpensively replaced by DT when / if it does expire.

8. Waterproof! 100 percent.

9. 50, yes, FIFTY levels of stim. Most humans can't feel the first few levels and to the dog, it feels like a finger tap. I put it on my own neck to try.

10. Available in 2 dogs models and newer models have the 'add a collar' feature so your system grows with you.

Cons:

1. it is not a small lightweight collar for small dogs. Also smaller dogs may need the beeper moved closer to the receiver...free by DT. If you have a small dog, you should try their Micro IDT collar. It works terrific for small breeds and for trainers who want something lightweight that won't cause 'collar wiseness'.

2. with heavy use, you'll have to have DT replace the battery in about 5 years.

Note of Disclosure: I am on D.T.'s Pro Staff but used the product Prior to joining them. I believe in this product and train daily with it in Texas and 2 months every year in Montana from horseback. If it didn't work I wouldn't bother as I certainly don't won't folks thinking I endorse junk.

ADDITIONAL UPDATE 15 July 2010: I would like to add that the rubber inside the corners of the newer frames...the ones that come with a white/blue color corner (instead of the older red/yellow color corners) DO NOT have as much holding power as the older frames did. The rubber inside the corners is a LOT softer/thinner plastic and the pads are much more proned to slip out of the corners.

I read the other reviews....I really like this product. I may have been lucky that my order arrived on time?? The main problem I have noticed is it is getting difficult to find these little frames. The ones you see now are much more expensive! I raise Chihuahua's so I always have several pads down, and expense is a big issue for me.

I have not had a problem with the wire sides coming apart, at least not to the point of being a problem. It has happened on occasion with some of my older frames, but I simple stuffed a small amount of pad/napkin/paper in the hole and that fixed the problem (quick fix-but it worked for me)

I have been using these frames for over 5 years, and have never had a puppy hurt by the frame, the corners are strong enough to handle consistant chewing by several litters with no damage that would effect the use of the frame. The corners are hard plastic so they can be soaked in clorox water for daily cleaning. The rubber inside the corners is the only portion that has grown weak over extended use from inserting and removing the PP pad corners.

All in all, I have to give this product a clear 5 rating as it has worked well for me with constant use.

This is a perfect pet frame for a small dog or puppy for housetraining. You just push the corners of the pad into the frame. This was really nice since the pads that have no sticky backing just slide around on the floor and the pads with sticky backing leave that sticky residue all over my tile floor. This is a good solution for keeping the pad stable. My only issue is that it took forever to ship from the seller. Not sure that it arrived within the timeframe that it said it would. Otherwise, I have no problem with the product itself.

Midwest Ultima Pro Series Dog Crate

This is a high quality crate. The wires are thick and well put together. The crate does not wobble at all. The removable doors are one of the selling points that led me to buy this. It is hard to find removable doors on crates. Also, I am able to roll the crate in one direction (there are strong rolls of plastic on the bottom wires). It makes cleaning under the cage easy since you do not have to lift it.

Our dog is strong and likes to jump against the crate and is a heavy chewer, yet the crate can stand all the force. I can really see this lasting a very long time. Even the plastic tray is thick. Also, there are no sharp edges. It comes with a DVD that will help you crate your dog (I had no use for it).

If you are buying a crate, spend the extra money and go for the Ultima Pro.

Our dog took less than a year to destroy a similarly priced, low-end crate purchased from my local chain pet store. The crate was fine, but she chewed her way through the door. After weeks of research, this crate looked like the only one that might survive. Glad I made the purchase. Yes, this is one of the most expensive crates I found, but if your dog is destroying the cheaper ones as fast as mine was, this is a bargain in the long run. The wires are spaces much more closely together than on other crates, so she cannot get her mouth on them to chew. The door overlaps the crate (the inside part of the overlap is the only part she can chew). And the wires are MUCH thicker than on any other crate I've seen. Even on the one part she can chew, she can barely bend it. The welds seem tougher too. I like the three doors, it gives us more options in how to place the crate in the room. My only problem is that the plastic pan on the bottom easily slides out, and sometimes I will come home and it is halfway out of the crate.

I ordered this crate in the size 37in. x 24.5 x 28 for my 5 month old American Pitbull Terrier Male. Im glad I did, instead of ordering the flimsy iCrate or lifestages crate. They are just too noisy, especially with an already 40lb Puppy inside it.

I thought this was a much better deal because I did not want to spend $200 on one of the super strong crates I was originally looking at. I feel like this one will work just fine and will be strong/safe enough for my Dog. I really like how there is a lot less rattling. I wish there was a better slide out crate pan though. It seems to be the same as all the other ones.

Pro's:

-3 doors

-No rattling

-Much sturdier/better quality

-Price isn't that bad

Con's:

-Front door latches are difficult to lock and unlock (Atleast on the one I got)

-Was shipped in the same box it came in without any extra protection (Box was a bit banged up)

-Slide out crate pan doesn't seem any more durable then the ones in the other crates.

All in all, I would definetly recommend this crate for anyone wanting something higher quality and long lasting. It's great for people with stronger pets, who may do some damage to a weaker crate.

We are fostering a 55lb Female Pit who was severely abused, starved etc etc. We tried FIVE crates prior to this one all of which she either broke out of or destroyed. The crate is fairly thick (although I was expecting a little thicker). She has yet to bend any of the wires after about 3 weeks (with others she did it after one day). The only reason I did not give this 5 stars is because the door latch hinges are not as strong as I would have liked. I bought some zip ties and just tied those down so she could not open the gate (trust me she has done it in the past). If this crate can contain our crazy foster Pit I guarantee this thing will hold up to whatever dog you may have.

I purchased several of these in the smallest size about a year ago from Amazon.com. Every one of them arrived with a different small defect. Various hinges and latches were bent just enough to not work without some repair. The hinges don't always line up right for the doors to close easily. The clips to hold in the tray do not line up properly on a single one of my crates. I think this is just poor design, not a defect. This is the reason for 4 instead of 5 stars.

Otherwise, they are very nice, thick, and sturdy crates. We stack them and attach them together with thick zip strips, and we find this a stronger, more sturdy setup than the Midwest stacking crates. We didn't see the point before we got them, but now we love having the 3 doors. It makes things so much easier and more flexible to arrange. The insert to make the crate smaller for puppies is very nice as well. These crates become our dogs' homes for mealtimes and bedtimes, so it is well worth it to spend a little more to get good, sturdy quality that will last.

FYI, the rectangle brand-label tag on one of the doors is magnetic. We purchased custom name plates for our crates and a roll of sticky magnet strip at a craft store. With the magnets on the back of the name plates, we can easily switch around the names on top of the door tags. It works great.

I returned the Midwest brand crate bowl holders because they seemed to present a hazard to the dog when not holding a bowl. Instead, I purchased wing nut crate bowl holders at an AKC dog show vendor booth and anchored them with extra zip strips. I have recommended this to many folks it really makes a difference as I can completely stop him if he wants to pull.

All in all this seems to be a pretty decent harness.The latches are some type of a sturdy plastic so it makes for washing easy without much worry about rust. The verticle strap that goes up the front of my dogs chest fits a little sloppy even when fully adjusted. I bought this harness because I liked the handle. I make my dog wear it everytime he goes outside because he doesn't want to come in every time I call and it takes a bit of force to make him come in.Thats where the handle really helps.The only drawback is my dog figured out how to pull the harness over his head like a shirt and step out of it. So if he doesn't want to wear it I find him seperated from it. However he mostly cooperates and keeps it on.So I won't return it because its the best thing I have going for me right now.
