My experience over the last few days with my 1 year old Sheltie was good (using a small size Gentle Leader). I'm glad the DVD emphasizes the proper fitting (which is really important). She doesn't mind the high and tight collar part, but she clearly doesn't like having something foreign hanging on top of her nose, but I think that will pass with time. However, with the Gentle Leader on, she no longer pulls during a walk. It has worked best to distract her from the top strap during our walk with food or by switching pace (from walk to run or back).

When I purchased this lead, the lead seemed very good. But, I found out that my little dog liked the lead too! My dog chewed through the cable. I had to change to lead with a cord that is flat. The new Expressions have what I want.

This product does work but not as completely as expected. My dog still pulls but not as hard as he did before. I realize that other dogs/owners may be better able to handle this and have more success. The only other thing that I noticed was if my dog was walking everything was fine but if I stopped to chat or look at something, he would sit down and try to use his paws to pull the front part off of his nose. All-in-all this is a very good product that does what it is supposed to but I took off a star because it is not an easy product or one for people in a hurry. But if you are not in a rush to get out the door with your furry friend and have a few extra minutes to work with a collar, this is a good product.

My dog gets overly excited on walks when he sees other animals, and had a real problem with pulling and lunging. The gentle leader head harness has been a godsend! Far less of the previous behaviors and correction/handling is SO much easier and more effective with this tool. It took my dog very little time to get used to the Gentle Leader and my arms don't get jerked out of their sockets! This product is a true winner I wish I had tried it sooner!

I have to say this appears to be one of the best quality collar and leashes that I've purchased. The instructions and video are very helpful and precise. I've had this set for a very long time waiting for the perfect opportunity to slowly get my dog used to the collar. (which is highly recommended) He sort of freaked out when I went to put the collar around his head for 3 seconds the first time, so I'm kind of dreading the whole process. But having said all that, I will make the effort and I'm happy about the purchase.
