PoochieBells Solid Classic Black Dog Potty Training Doorbell

PoochieBells Solid Classic Black Dog Potty Training DoorbellThese bells work. Our dog Juneau uses them every time she needs to use the restroom outside (See attached video to watch her use the bells!). Keep in mind this could take 6-8 weeks to learn, but once they figure it out it makes life a lot easier.

These bells have been amazing for our puppy. We have a toy mini aussie and started teaching him the bells at 10 weeks and he picked it up the very next day. We live in an apartment, and found this was the most easiest way to find when he's gotta go. One downside, we did have phase where the puppy would take advantage to just go out to play. But with the proper amount of walks, he's resided to only sounding the alarm when it's time :)

All you do is shake them when you leave your house to go potty, and reward him with a treat when he rings them himself.

Our puppy was ringing the bells to go outside within the first week. Great look & length. The bells are loud enough to hear throughout the house, but they're not obnoxiously loud.

This is basically a brown version of something you might hang up at Christmas. It does blend into the door nicely and we are working on training our Maltese-Shih Tzu to use it. It is a sturdy ribbon with several jamgley sleigh-type bells on it.

After reading alot of positive reviews of this product I decided to purchase it and give it a try with our 4 month old lab puppy. Our puppy was fairly ok with potty training, however, it was sometimes difficult for us know when she had to go because she gave really subtle hints at times and that was when an accident occurred. The item arrived quickly and was exactly as described. I would like to point out that the lace is not the greatest material and would highly recommended investing a bit more for the leather material instead. My puppy did pick up quick (about 3 days) to ring the bell to go outside. The problem now is that she rings the bells whenever she wants to go outside...even after she does her business. And she sometimes play with it like a tug of war. Its a bit of an annoyance but I managed to hang the bells much higher so that she is able to reach only the lowest hanging bells and its not easily accessible for her to play with. The lace is now somewhat torn because she tugged at it but it is still in working condition. I understand the use of this product and it does what it is ment to do as long as the trainer is consistent. All dogs are going to be different and it so happens that mines like to use it more to just go outside and play.
