I have a high end training collar with a mile range for my bird dog / home / family companion German Shorthaired Pointer, Hans. I got this collar to see if it would passively help him be quiet in his kennel/cage on those mornings when he keeps trying to get me out of bed and I want to sleep in. I took the battery protector out to give the thing juice, clipped it on, and was amazed at how well it worked. There are no settings to program, and not even an on/off switch. Back to sleep and no barking, howling, or crying coming from the utility room! I'm buying another one just to keep it on hand.

Hans is pretty smart and ornery, so he's figured out he can do some whimpering with the collar on, but I can't hear through the bedroom door and clipping the collar on typically immediately changes his attitude. The progressive, increasing shock feature is very effective and I think all but the most thick-skulled canines will learn the behavior / consequence situation very rapidly.

i love this item because i was kinda against it at first.I actually tried it on myself before i put it on my pet,he is a pitbull and barks all night, just because he is a guard dog, but I didnt want him to get hurt by it. But its only a tickle and he hasnt barked ,as long as i remember to put it on him. He stops barking for the most part because he hears the little beep,and gets distracted. I love it .I do recommend.

Put it on my dog. It goes off randomly when he is not barking, and does not work when he barks. Don't waste your money. Also the color cannot be adjusted enough for small dogs.
