I bought this for a beagle I adopted and emailed my dogs specific measurements to the company and they replied fairly quickly saying #4 should fit quite well... well, I got it, and thought it was just an issue with the leather pad on top... it was poking into her eyes. she literally could not open her eyes with it on. if i'd put it on looser so she could see, she would've been able to either get it off, or poke her nose through either side if she were determined to bite. I stupidly cut the pad off thinking that was the only issue instead of returning it immediately. tried without the pad and it still pokes into her eyes. i made some bends with some pliers since i was clearly not returning it in that condition, and i can kinda sorta get it to work for her, but the only thing i can use it for is grooming, bc she still halfway has to close her eyes, or at least squint because it hits a weird spot. I couldn't keep it on her for training it is that much of a distraction. she's not sure what's going on with it, so she just lays on the floor with her head down. great if that's your command, but not for real training. Make sure you have plenty of time to exchange for the correct size as the charts can be deceiving.

within 5 seconds of putting it on my pit bull, he got his whole toe stuck in it trying to take it off and started to panic! Luckily I was able to rip it off him to twist it back off his toe before he tore it off or broke it. This was avoidable if it had cross bars everywhere small enough that a toe doesn't fit in.
