Premier Busy Buddy Linkables Dog Toys Value Pack

Premier Busy Buddy Linkables Dog Toys Value PackThese toys are great but before buying consider whether your dog is a chewer. They are not meant to be chew toys so no false promises but both of my dogs (8 month old lab mixes) easily chewed off the ends, even the one who is not really a chewer. As a result, the connections between each piece are not as sturdy but overall, the toy is great because of the flexibility it allows.

What I like most about the Premier Busy Buddy Linkables Dog toy is that you can configure it in a few different ways. Each time I do this, my dog revels in the fact she has a NEW TOY!!! My lab is extremely hard on stuffed toys, so I have been on the lookout for a durable toy that can keep her occupied. Enter the Busy Buddy Linkables. On the PRO side, the different configurations allow you to leave one part out for the dog to play with, and then swap it out the next day for the NEW TOY reaction.

I find them durable. I have had this toy for about a month now, and it is still in one piece a remarkable feat, since my dog usually obliterates soft toys inside an hour.

Now a bit on the negative side, the connector ends allow you to fill each section with kibble, or treats, but I find that when I add kibble through the connector side, it tends to immediately fall out on the dispensing side. The instructions recommend that you use the punch-out stars, located on the sides of each section, to load treats into the toy. When you do this, there is less of a chance of kibble falling out the other end. This usually involves filling the toy one treat-at-a-time.

I was hoping to be able to use this toy to dispense a good proportion of her dog food to her, hoping that it would take more than a few minutes for her to empty the toy. Since she can empty it fairly quickly, I only use about 1/4 cup of kibble in these sections.

Although my lab is an 80 pound bruiser, I find her limit is two of these linked together. I am not sure why, unless three of them linked together make it more difficult for her to launch it across the room (her favorite way to empty interactive toys).

I have not tried the treats made specially for the toy, yet. But she is having a lot of fun with these toys. A keeper!!!

I have a power-chewing Labrador retriever. This toy was recommended by a trainer to keep her occupied because she is smart and gets bored (according to the trainer). Within FIVE MINUTES of giving her the first piece (to start out with), she had destroyed the end and I had to throw it away. Same thing happened to the second piece. She is currently chewing on the third piece, which I give her 10 minutes, tops, to destroy. Bottom line: I spent $45 for 15-20 minutes (total) of doggy attention, and 20 minutes of my time cleaning up little bits of rubber from all over the floor. Nice idea but doesn't work. I found that the Busy Buddy Bristle Bone (by the same manufacturer) lasted a little longer three weeks before she disassembled it and chomped most of the parts. This toy would probably be entertaining for a dog that's a less energetic chewer, but it might be a better idea to try one link first before leaping into the "value" pack and finding that you've wasted a lot of money.

They bring it to me empty and drop it at my feet. I have all 3 sizes, The red and green are the only ones they like, The blue ball, I think is to heavy for them, and it doesn't drop and bounce like the others do. I got the treats that go with it at first, but now, I just break up regular dog biscuits and jam them in, they work fine. If you break them to the size of a dime. The best toy I have ever gotten for them.

I am pleased and disappointed. Do I sound confused?? I really am not. This is my dogs' FAVORITE toy ever. They stay occupied for a long time and actually are ready to nap after wrestling with the Linkables (which is until it is empty.) I then take it to the kitchen to wash and ready for the next day. I do not let them chew unnecessarily. They play with it...pick it up and drop it, swing it and let it fly, jam their bottom jaws inside in search, bark at it in hopes of more goodies, (I give it to them once a day only, then remove it so it will remain a special daily treat.) They roll it with their paws all the while their noses to the floor, sniffing to see if their goodies fell out. It is excellent for my Border Collie. She is very active and when the weather is bad we do not get to play as much Frisbee as during decent weather. She works hard to get every little drop out. I gave her a turkey hot dog today cut up in small pieces. Then when she is finished and it has been put away, she goes to sleep.

We received this on Wed and have now had it 3 days but it looks like an old toy. It is already showing heavy wear and I feel we will be lucky if it makes it a week. That saddens me very much because they love it so. I can't afford to replace it every week or two. Maybe twice a year I can live with but there is already a split all the way through and the link that I put on that section does not stay well because of it.

I will update at a later time when we see how it holds up.
