Sure it costs more than the other brands, but if you want professional grade equipment, this is it. This is what high speed, low drag military handlers and trainers use. It's durable, reliable, and simple. My company uses Tri-Tronincs exclusively. Ecollars are meant for long range, beyond voice and sight applications. This is where this collar shines. I have had to replace/repair one collar twice and the second collar 3 times, with the transmitter replaced/repaired 3 times, and the charger(s) replaced twice in the past 2 years. When one part of the system doesn't work, it all doesn't work (you can't use a collar without a transmitter, and niether without a charger) so the system is not working more often than it does. The good thing I have to say is that the company continues to honor their warranty and keeps sending replacement parts, but first they ask you to go through rather complicated and time consuming processes to "fix" the problems but the fixes don't work. If not for the warranty, this product would get no stars. I would never buy one of these again and recommend no one else does. But if the same company produced a better product I would consider going back to them again.

I ordered this unit thinking it was as pictured, the EXP expandable up to 6 dogs. When I recieved it, it is only the single dog model, non-expandable. For just $20 more, you can have an expandable unit.
