We have a 3 year old rescue Staffy. We've had her for 2 years and walking was always day to day. We tried them all. She pulls like a horse on any kind of harness, chokes herself on chain collars, and lies down to avoid the gentle face leader. The face leash was working the best, but she was getting raw on the bridge of the nose, and it wasn't controlling her around other dogs, although it did stop her from eating junk off the street. With this illusion collar she doesn't pull, doesn't eat off the ground, doesn't even lunge at other dogs. It's a drastic welcome change. Hopefully it lasts, it's only been a few weeks. She is 60 lbs and we got a size medium, well fitted.

Has the best control of any collar I've tried. This one beats the kind that goes around the chest and the ones that go around the dog's snout. My dog still gets a little jumpy with it on, but is way more under control than with other collars. I have a rescue dog with some social issues and walking him around any other dogs or people was a struggle. I also have a bad shoulder, which would be sore after his lunging and jumping episodes during our walks. This collar has really brought him under control. I think with more training, he will become even easier to walk using the Illusion collar.

I did not buy this collar for my dog because he had pulling issues, though after using the collar I could see that he did pull more than I liked. He was inattentive on our walks and would always be "cruising" for his next mark. He would whine at other dogs, cats, squirrels.... you get the idea. This collar gave me a lot of control, so that I was able to correct him as soon as he started getting his mind amped up. The lease stays right at the back of his head and gives you all the control you need. I thought it would be too beefy for my dog, but it fits him nicely and we now enjoy our walks. Highly recommended.

I've tried all kinds of collar & harness on our staffy half-check chains, non-pull harness etc. They all allowed her too much control, and she was still making walks unhappy with her constant pulling, lunging and snapping at other dogs. I finally managed to get one on UK eBay.

This collar looks uncomfortable, a bit like a corset for the neck, but it's fine. It sits in exactly the right part of her neck, to control the head. I am now using LESS force, so it's kinder for her too. With this collar, I can hold her lead in 2 fingers, just like Cesar does! To correct her I need to give just a tiny twitch of the lead (sideways or up, not back). It gives you THAT much control.

She instantly goes calm with her Illusion collar on and now she knows that I'm in control of HER, not the other way round, walks are so much more pleasant for both of us. I wish it wasn't so expensive, but it's still been worth every penny.
