Hi, I was told about thiws product by someone who I met while walking my dog. They were so right; the gentle leader works great. My Goldendoodle loves it, has no trouble walking with her ball in her mouth, and her incesstant pulling is all but gone. This thing has no pressure or pain, it works a lot like a bridle for a horse. Dani never pulled to be annoying, but would forget over and over (oh yea, I am supposed to walk with Bri). With this item we walk together w/o any pulling--so nice!

The gentle leader works like magic in controlling my hyper dog who used to be able to pull me over on a regular collar and leash. With the gentle leader, I am in total control. The only suggestion I have is to make it available without the DVD in the packaging, after one purchase all that is needed is the leader.

I've tried harness after harness for my dog. While some harnesses worked alright by my standards, they still allowed too much pulling for my girlfriend to walk our dog. Our dog is a high energy boxer/pit mix, so she is quite strong.

From the recommendation of a trainer, we decided to try out the gentle leader. It's amazing! It's almost like power steering for your dog. It's easier to walk the dog and keep the head up so they will follow you. Since it slides over the face it's also tough for the dog to pull on it. Also, the way it is designed, the dog is still allowed to completely use their mouths, so this isn't anything like a muzzle (but some people you walk by may assume it is)

When we first tried the gentle leader, the dog didn't like it because it went over her face. However, after some time she got used to it and it's no problem anymore. If you're having trouble getting your dog to wear it, try holding a treat between the loop while you put it on...this has worked to get my dog used to wearing the gentle leader.

My owner says I pull alot! Which is true but its not my fault my previous owners never taught me leash manners. My person says I've been heeling wonderfully on leash and the transition to a flat collar is going smoothly. She says I still need my gentle leader for the places where my attention span is less than stellar like the park and the pet store but I am getting better and well on my way to passing my therapy dog test on a flat collar. The first gentle leader I had lasted 5 months before some one left it on the bed and repurposed it with my cattle dog sense of creativity but my second one has lasted about 3 months and it looks almost brand new with daily wear! Plus when we go out people no longer comment what a handsome boy thanks to the bright pink they can see im a girl. Oh by the way this doesnt come with the training dvd so if your owner is new to the head collar system they should by the whole package not just the head collar or they can find great info online!
