I made the mistake of buying a cheaper product, and it broke with normal wear and tear. I'm so glad it was never put to the real test of an accident. So, I was pleased that this product has no fasteners to break, just very high quality nylon(?). Also, I followed the measurements, but the first one I ordered ended up fitting too snugly (making getting it on/off impossible). Unless your dog is in the lower range for the chest area, size up. You will appreciate being able to slip it on and off and you can tighten the fit up with a couple of adjustment straps.

I have to give 5 stars for the QUALITY of the product. However, I think the manufacturer does a very poor job with guidance on sizing. My female Ridgeback (built a little masculine) measured perfectly into the middle of the Medium2 range. However, she would have had to be quite the contortionist to make it in and out of it regularly. I had to order a large to actually humanely use it. Can't comment on service for returns, as I was not willing to pay return shipping on an item that I ordered exactly to spec. I will sell it to one of my friends.

I think this would be a wonderful harness, but I have been unable to fit it to my dog. The range of measurements given does not correspond to what fits. My dog was on the lower range of chest measurement for the size I purchased, but I couldn't even get it on her because it was too small. I figured it was just a goof-up, but the replacement was just the same, and I conformed that I was getting the right size. Very frustrating, as I know the product design is terrific as far as its safety features are concerned.

I measured my dog exactly as the video indicated (on the actual ruffrider website). When it actually came in the mail, the Medium 1 harness barely fit my dog. It was way too tight to even get on his head and slip under his chest. Although this may be a safe harness, the hassle and annoyance of mis-sizing makes it not worth it at all. I am still in search of the perfect harness

I'd go zero stars if I could. I ordered 2 of these. A "Medium1" and a "Medium2" for both my pit bulls (male 31" chest, female 27" chest"). I couldn't get the Medium2 to fit the larger dog so I tried it on the smaller dog. I barely managed to fit this on her but the strap to secure was still way, way, way to short. She would not even be able to sit. She would have to lay down
