I have two rat terriers who are just terrible together, but perfect alone. They are going through training with a dog trainer and one of these was recommended for me. This thing works like a charm! It was a little hard to pair the add-on collar to the transmitter, but if you only have 1 dog you will be fine.

The dogs started responding immediately. They know that once the collar goes on they need to cool out. I actually use the "positive" reinforcement tone as a warning. When they hear that beep they look at me and I know I've got their attention.

The dogs know exactly what it means when they have the collar on and they don't fool around. It transmits a safe vibration, just like the one on your cell phone but it startles them into paying attention. Try it on yourself and you will see how shocking it is lol For my small dogs I have it set on 2 and it is enough. 3 is pushing it. You might get a few screeches out of them the first few times because they have NO idea what the heck is buzzing their neck and they are scared, but that wears off when they get used to it. Once they learn the system you RARELY have to use it at all. Its amazing the change you will see.

Good buy. I brought this one and the add on, and have even purchased a second system for my grandmother. She brought her feisty 8 month puppy over and he torments my more aggressive dogs. With the collar on he is calmer as well, and when you take it off he goes crazy after my dogs again. He also chews her furniture and with the collar she has more range to correct the behavior without chasing him. You will see the change. Easy to use.
