BUT my only problem is that eventually the mats stop working for whatever reason the wiring doesn't work after a few months and the mats won't beep anymore. I bought my first 2 mats in Sept 08 one died about three months later and the other one just stopped working recently (March 09). I changed the batteries but no luck. I was always very careful with the mats and am disappointed that they eventually stop working especially at $25 a pop. This product was just what I needed. I was trying to find a way to keep the dog off the beds when I left the house. I tried a Scat Mat, but it will not work under a blanket and has to be placed on top of the bed. The dog quickly learned to get over or around it. The Sofa Scram works perfectly for this. Being hidden, the dog never knows when it is there or not. I have been randomly alternating the placement under the top blanket of my bed and my son's bed and the dog seems to have gotten the message. There are no signs lately of jumping on the bed. The only thing I would like to see on this product would be a counter to see how many times it was activated when left alone, but this mat worked great for my purpose.

First I bought the scat mat. Since it has a counter, I knew that my dog was "testing" it while I was out during the day, even on the high shock setting. But he wasn't staying on the couch (judging from the lack of hair), so I came back to Amazon to order another, only to discover the SOFA SCRAM! I tried it, since it was cheaper, and boy have I noticed a difference. There isn't a counter, but if I turn it off and move it to another location, my dog runs out of the way. He won't go near it. I know he activated it one time the first day (there was hair on the couch) but he hasn't gone near it since. I'm here to buy more.Read Best Reviews of Sofa Scram Sonic Dog & Cat Deterrent Repellent Mat Here
We looked at several different types of pet deterrent mats. Chose the Scram because it worked sonically and ran off batteries rather than needing to be plugged in. (Sat on it a few times myself forgetting it was there under a blanket and glad we hadn't gone the static-shock route. Ha! ha!) We have three huge dogs who were used to having use of the futons around the house. Got some nice leather couches and they proceeded to enjoy them as well, but the scratches were becoming a problem. Bought two Scrams for the loveseat and sofa, laid a blanket over them that could be easily pulled back to switch off the Scram when you wanted to sit on the couch. Lots of beeping for about a week, but they got the point quick. Final lesson could be considered an issue with the Scrams. One had gotten wedged between the cushions while we were out and on our return it was screaming away. We're chuckling as we type this at the image of all three dogs hiding in the furthest room of the house until we switched the Scram off again. The look in their eyes said it all. No dogs allowed on these couches. :) A bonus is that we have a couple other couches that are specifically for them, and they quickly learned the difference and respect it. We're a few weeks out and no longer need to use the Scrams. Lesson learned. Happy dogs. Healthy couches. A few good laughs.Want Sofa Scram Sonic Dog & Cat Deterrent Repellent Mat Discount?
Ummmm totally works like a charm. Every time I'm upstairs and hear a 'beep' and the scrabble of doggie toe nails, I just chuckle, heheheh. Take that, doggles! Furniture is for the two-legged... I give this 5 stars and note it as the best investment of the year.
