I used this whistle as an alternative to yelling at my 4 month old Irish Setter puppy. I live on a couple acres along a pretty busy road so the noise around me required me to yell repeatedly for my pup to come. The very first time I used it it got my pups attention and then I called him. I gave him a couple treats for coming so promptly. This whistle is very loud and high pitched...our dog certainly hears is! But instead of stopping in his tracks (like I was hoping) he goes crazy...tearing it up all over the house...haven't tried it outside yet where he is the most distracted

We have two dogs, shih tzu & toy poodle. Toy comes when he hears it Tzu ignores it. Not silent by any means.
