Since we dont actually own our home we were forced to consider out of the box options for pet containment. Fences and wired fences were to much money to leave when we move. The Radial shape 2 was a great purchase. Our Dalmatian picked up on it fast and we have never had a problem. with our home layout and out buildings our effective range is 175 ft which gives our dogs ample room. their collar is cheap and flimsey so we got a leather one from TSC and popped two holes in it for the screws and fastened the prongs over the collar on the screws. have yet to have a problem other than the battery dies once a day so changing the battery has just become another daily chore. Get up, feed dogs, change batteries, put old ones in charger. but we always put them on before letting them out and take them off in the house. Like all other things with dogs it becomes habit. we are looking forward to visiting our cabin and taking the base and collars with us. I love the portability of this thing. just make sure you hang up the collars or put them on a shelf so they cant chew them up.

Love the idea the unit can be moved and take with you anywhere, also easy to set up, and no digging.

the cons are the battery needs to be replaced ever other day, which means you constantly have to charge batteries, and the constant changing of batteries wore out the tangs on the inside of the collar unit and now it will not work properly at all, it took just over a year, so now I am not warrentied. I shouldnt have to buy a new collar every year to year and 1/2 due to this design flaw, yes this will happen to you :( !!

Have 5 acres & was able to set at 200 ft & it keeps dogs in yard. Must daily change battery but worth it. Our 2 large German Shepherds learn boundary settings in 2 days.

Batteries only last two or three days. If the batteries lasted a week, I would give this product five stars! I like the fact that I can set the boundary to contain them in the majority of the yard, so that I am not feeling that my babies are too limited. Changing the batteries every other day is getting exhausting however.
