Our old shock collar broke and for a while our coon hound was not barking but then she realized she no longer had a working collar and started barking again. After some neighborhood complaints, we decided to get another collar. Seen this one was happy about the price and so far, it is working great! I love that you can do a vibrate instead of a shock to get her attention. After shocking her twice, she got the message and no longer barks. The only problem we have had with it is that the collar does not shut off. The blue light continues to blink even if we press the power button. But we only need to charge it once a week so we can live with that. The remote is kind of big and bulky but since she doesn't seem to need it all of the time, we don't feel the need to carry it around with us. Great collar for the price.

So I didn't buy the cheaper version due to the negative reviews and spent a little more on this one. The thing worked flawlessly for a week or two but now it won't hold a charge and goes dead after a few minutes of putting it on the dog. I have contacted the company and hopefully they will take care of the issue. item does beep, vibrate, and shock has good range from weak to intense. I have changed the batteries and completely charged the collar and the best line of sight range I am getting is around 45 yards.
