I use this to deter barking. It works! I'm currently using it to train a dog to stop jumping up on people. And it's worked for that too. I'm absolutely in favor of positive training methods and this works to catch the dog's attention without any yelling. Properly used (not within a foot of your dog's ears) it's an effective tool for most dogs, and would also be a good tool to keep unknown dogs away from you while walking.

My friend used one of these with her dog. After two weeks of consistent use ("No Bark" then activating the trainer), she was about to give up. Then it clicked for her dog and has been very effective in stopping his barking ever since. Now all she does is show him the device and he stops barking. We're into week three with our little dog and while she seems to take note when we activate it, and I think her barking has decreased just a little, she's still Lucy Barker most of the time.
