I am a Dog Behaviorist & Trainer with three German Shepherds of my own. One of them, my treasured 105 pound Rocky, loves to play soccer ball using his nose as his "foot".... he has that ball all over the place, up and down the court, truly amazing, but he will only play with a muzzle on obviously because it protects his nose from getting all battered up. This muzzle is the most EXCELLENTLY designed muzzle I have ever owned for an athletic dog like Rock and he was so excited about it he could hardly wait to shove his nose into it. It gives outstanding facial protection and coverage while allowing him plenty of room to pant and drink water freely. Although Rocky isn't a biter I can see how this design would also be excellent for bite prevention without making an already paranoid or defensive dog feel compromised due to the freedom it offers of still being able to pant, drink water and even eat small kibble food through it. This fits our German shepherd well. We have 4 other muzzles that were a waste of money. With the Dean&Taylor she runs along on 2 hour horseback rides and is able to breath freely and drink in streams. Worried about her catching it in the woods but so far no problems. We slide strap under her collar and it stays on. The leather did stretch after a few months and we just went to next hole.
