I really like the collar-I can see my dog in the dark, and, more importantly, so can drivers in case she were to run out into traffic. My problem is that I didn't realize that it was not adjustable until I received it. The different sizes are listed separately, so make sure you get the right size !I

My husband and I have two rescued dogs that we walk as often as we can, sometimes early in the morning before the sun is up and other times late at night. We wanted a dog collar that worked well in the early mornings and late evenings when we are walking the dogs, and wanted one that kind of warned other people out walking that we had a rather large dog with us. This collar does both very nicely. People (and cars) can see us coming when we're at the end of the road (about half a mile I think). It has three settings, fast blinking, slower blinking and solid. I prefer the solid setting because the flash settings can get a bit distracting (but that's just me, my kids prefer the blinking settings).

We do not hook the leash up to this collar, we prefer to hook it up to a semi-choke collar. We only use the LED collar when it is harder to see on walks (fog, evening, daybreak, etc). The light is bright enough for others to see us coming but not so bright that you can't see the dog or the area you're walking in.

When I first read the other reviews, I thought someone mentioned that these collars lit up the walkway. Please note this is not the case (even with brand new batteries). It is not a flashlight, nor is it anywhere near as bright. It's equivalent to a blinking red light you see on runners or cyclists, but no brighter. We enjoy using it and I would recommend it to anyone else who walks their dogs when it's dark out.

The collar seems to be made of decent materials. The LEDs are fairly bright. I thought I might be able to leave it on my dog so he is always ready to head out for some night bicycle rides. My only problem with the collar is that my dog seems to turn it on a lot when he scratches himself so I cannot leave it on him all the time.

Update:

The LED really isn't bright enough for my liking. That and my dog is so fat that it is hard to get a good line of sight on it. I plan on using it in conjunction with a clip on LED or maybe find a hunting vest for him. The collar is good but not great.

I bought this item because I have a black dog and he needs to be seen at night. The idea is great, a collar with a light (I chose red), that can blink or be steady on. It worked great when I first got it, but soon the light began to randomly decide to not stay on. I changed batteries (twice in a month they don't last long) but that did not help. The light will go off and if I "fiddle" with the collar (i.e., twist it or pull on it near the on/off button) it will go on, but not stay on reliably. I've only had this for a little over one month and I'm ready to throw it in the garbage. ETA: I have not used this collar with a leash, I was just using it as a light on my dog.

Update: The wire between the battery box/switch and the lights broke. Of course, it broke AFTER the "return window" expired......

Well made collar, we just wish it would go just a little bigger. We bought the biggest one they have.

We love this. We put it on our dog at night when we let him out and we can see him as he runs around the yard to do his business.

We actually purchased two and red and a green one.

The three settings (short blink, long blink or steady) are nice but when we set it to blink, he goes out he starts chasing the lights on the ground. Funny to watch. :)
