I have a rescued lab that was never trained to walk on a leash. She would pull us all over. I checked out this leash at a local pet festival in our town and bought one immediately. The dog learned quickly that constantly pulling on this leash was futile. It wears her out to try and pull forward, because the lease is trying to pull her back. She quickly has become a joy to walk.I then decided to foster a large, strong pit bull. I was so excited to find this leash on Amazon after thinking I was going to have to wait until October for the pet festival! Not only is my foster large and strong... He is still a pup with zero manners. This leash helps me keep him under control, and in just a few walks, he has learned not to drag me all over the neighborhood.
Additionally, we are slowly socializing him with our older dogs. The short stretch of the leash helps to keep him at the perfect distance since he wants to jump on them to play. The leash I purchased from Amazon will go with the dog to his new forever home in a few weeks. His new owners have been working with him already on this leash and love it as well.
While more expensive then the normal nylon leash you can get at a pet store, it is well worth the money!! It lasts, it doesn't bite into your hand if the dog does pull, and you will find that your dog learns to walk instead of pull very quickly.
