I finally gave in and tried this for a litter of mastiff puppies. What a difference! I started them early (put the pan in there as soon as they were walking) and the pups learned quickly to use the pan to do their business, making the whelping area a whole lot nicer to come home to. I've used it for every litter since. No problems with pups eating the litter either, and the scent really does make the room smell better.
