The gate is tall and works well in the standard door jam I am using it in. I use it for my crazy chocolate lab, and it works well. I was concerned she would jump over the typical 36" gates. The 44" height was the main reason I bought it. When I took it out of the box a few screws were loose, and one was even stripped. A little chintzy when it is standing free, but is quote solid when in-place. The total quality is somewhat lacking, but it gets the job done.

This gate did the job for almost two days before it broke.We purchased this gate to keep the cat from roaming too much, and it seemed to be keeping him confined as hoped. I did notice the adjustment bar was a bit lightweight for the size of the gate and would flex a bit when the gate was secured. Well, it lasted for less than two days (probably 10-12 opening/closing cycles) before it snapped. At $20./day it's a bit too expensive for me!

This gate is exactly what I expected and more. It is perfect for my dogs that are able to leap tall buildings and climb over them. I would highly recommend this gate. I use it for my cat...anything lower she would be able to jump. The gate is very sturdy, well made. I got it at a lower price from Amazon...the only damage was to the box, and didn't affect the gate at all...a real bargain.Save 6% Off
