Trekking Dog Harness

I was very satisfied with this harness when I first took it out of package. It was just what I was looking for very sturdy and well-made. I got it for my 22 pound jack russell mix. Well, I thought it was great until I tried it on him. I adjusted the straps and it fit him very well, except for one area. The second strap went right over his, well, let's say if my dog was a female, it would have been a perfect fit. There was just no way getting the second strap buckled and adjusted without it being right over his boy part. So unfortunately it is useless to me and my dog. But, I repeat, if I had a girl dog, we would both be loving it. (I also want to add that this probably won't be an issue if you have a medium or large male dog, probably will just affect the small male dogs.)

I purchased the medium harness for my dog. She is 47 pounds of muscle with a 15 inch neck and 26.5 inch chest. At first I wasn't too sure this would work for us since she is very muscular with a deep chest and lean back end, but we made it work. Be patient if you have a wiggly dog; this harness has 5 different adjustments. For my dog, this is how I adjusted it: The two upper buckles from the chest pad are adjusted pretty far down, maybe two inches left on either side to work with. The first strap doesn't have too much room left in the event she grows, as you can see in the picture I posted. The bottom strap of the chest pad is adjusted as small as it would go; still a hair big, but it still works. The rear strap is adjusted pretty small, but I did leave it a bit loose so she isn't uncomfortable when she sits down.

Color: The color wasn't really what I expected, but I like it much better that what the picture shows. On my computer it looks like the harness is grayish/tan with a reddish trim; although the color is noted as 'olive'. It is actually a greenish/gray color with brown trim.

The harness appears to be very well made and quite sturdy and I REALLY like that the straps have padding for comfort. The handle on top is a nice touch, too. If you are looking for a solution to pulling this probably isn't the product for you. (In my opinion the only solution to pulling is diligent training.) When we initially set out on our hike it seemed to help with her pulling quite a bit, but as she got comfortable with it she tended to pull more, especially when she picked up a really exciting scent she wanted to follow. I will say that it did give me more control over her and I did not have to worry about damaging her trachea from her pulling. Another plus--I'm pretty confident that this harness will not pull over her head as a previous one did. I'm not sure yet if this will work out for summer since it gets so hot here, but we'll be sure to put it to the test.

One more note...Although the company is in GA; the harness is made in India if that is a deciding factor.

I saw the first review and she felt the same way I did. The exact measurements of these things can be critical. I am amazed that it wasn't included in the description. I googled PETCO 400 series dog crate and found the dimensions. For the 400 it is 23" L X 16" W X 1"

I need a tray and these are by far the least expensive. I'd buy one but I can't find the measurements anywhere on the description. Without that, it's impossible to buy it. Are the measurements given somewhere and I'm missing it?

I always carry training treats when walking my dogs, and I also use them during training sessions at home. These are the only ones I've found so far that I like (my dogs like just about anything!). They are easy to break into even smaller pieces and don't crumble. If you leave them in your pocket overnight, they dry out but they don't get mushy and gross, which is great because I always seem to do this! This is the BEST training treat on the market, in my opinion. All of my dogs (6 at one point) LOVE these treats. They are perfect for encouraging potty training or doing tricks. I have been using these pads since my dog was a puppy. This is also the most economical site I have ever found them on. Potty training was a breeze. I also use the tray and would recommend it. It can go anywhere with you. I have a disability so she is trained to use the tray with pads in a discreet part of the house. I tried cheaper brands, but this pad dries so quickly you can get multiple uses. A trick for training. Buy a can of Cheese Whiz. Each time your puppy does it's business give it a little cheese to lick off your finger-it really works!! And do not worry you will not be doing this forever. These are so much better than any other training pads I have used. I bought these when I found them at a good price. This is a great product. I use the tray and the pads.I have a 14-1/2 year old 9 lb dachshund. She is blind and has trouble with her back legs. She is in good health otherwise. I started using these pads and tray in January 2010. You can definitely teach an old dog new tricks. She tells me when she has to go and I take her to the tray and she does her thing. No mess or anything. I changed the pads once a day and put in the garbage. I always wipe the tray with a clorax wipe to keep it fresh. This is a great invention and I think it would be great for new puppy training.

We tried this with our new puppy and gave it a good month of effort. We even discussed it with our dog trainer thinking we were doing something wrong. We could not get the puppy to use these, which is a shame since it would have been so nice when we travel. We wasted money and training time on this one, our dog would not use it.

Easy Walk Harness - Medium, Green-Black

I have a 9 month old beagle mix puppyshe weighs about 50 pounds and is an extreme puller. Even after going through training and constantly working on walking, we still had problems with pulling. I wasn't expecting miracles from this harness, but had heard good things about it and decided to give it a try as I was getting tired of being tugged around by my dog. From the first time I walked her with it on, it was a complete turn around from previous walks. She usually pulls hard on the leash and is the one leading on walks, but with this harness, I now feel in control. Whenever the leash gets taught, she slows down to let it go slack again and is very responsive to the feeling of the harness. I am truly impressed. I no longer have to hold the leash with an iron fist, but can hold it comfortably at my side. Walking with her now is actually enjoyable. It does not change any behavioral issues, but is a good tool to help correct this particular unwanted behavior.

A trainer recommended this style of harness to me 7 years ago and it's all that I've used for my two active dogs ever since. They hold up very well and last for a long time. The only reason I've had to buy more if that my boxer occasionally chews his way through one when we are traveling and forget to take it off him. It' 100% keeps them from pulling us all over the place and allows me to manage two crazy dogs in a busy city environment. Best harness out there, in my opinion!!

Dog Gate-n-Crate for Small to Medium Size Dogs, Extends to 6-feet

This is a well constructed, heavy gate with rubber skid pads for the feet. I liked the quality of the wood. I have a slick wood floor but it doesn't budge when pushed. I have two Westies (13 and 18 lbs) and neither has tried to jump over it. It definitely is for smaller dogs and would not be tall enough for medium to large dogs. While it folds flat, the feet are about 10" long so it takes up quite a bit of space in the closet. It probably wouldn't be a good choice if you have dogs that like to chew wood. Also, you can find it on other sites at lower cost than Amazon. A couple have it at $ 80 with free shipping.

This is a very well made product that is solid and beautiful to look at, BUT my little 8 pound Mini Schnauzer puppy quickly learned to climb over it. The horizontal bars allow it to be climbed like a ladder. So, I'm not exactly sure how that makes this dog suitable for "small to medium size dogs." Otherwise, it's very stable and adapts well to most any size opening that you would have. If you buy this product, I highly recommend training the dog to never place their front feet on the gate. A squirt bottle of water after telling them "off!" seems to work well. The optional rubber pads that stick to the bottom are a joke, the adhesive isn't nearly strong enough and they are falling off within a day or two of assemble. Fortunately, they don't really have a purpose so it's not a problem.

I was looking to purchase a gate, there are so many to choose from. Finally I found this item. BEST CHOICE for what I needed. AND well worth the money, so I bought 2. The wood is excellent quality and easy to put together (way easy) and very sturdy. I use it for outdoors. Since I like it so much I bought a 3rd gate!!!

I should mention I have a Aussy Sheppard as well, 60lbs so far keeps him in as well. He hasn't knocked it over, or tried to jump over.
